This is basically what Osom did, just I live in Ohio, not Washington. I'm looking to meet up and /or collaborate with brickfilmers/filmmakers that live within a few hours of Dayton?

Maybe we should have a thread with a map ,where, if people felt okay about it they could tag their location or tag themselves near the closest metropolis so that people dont have to post new threads looking for nearby members. Obviously people would have to consider if they want to post their location but I think it would work. I think Brickfilm.com had a thread like it.

Dunno of a good map program or site that does this though.
Eurobricks uses a Google-based one.
The only problem is that it has precise locations,
and most members probably don't want to reveal any more than their city, if that.

Yeah, I didn't want to go that route.
I was going to suggest a poll or something, but that would be one heck of a poll to list all of the countries of the world.
You could use the Google one and just select your city's centre
Maybe we could just have a location thread for people to state as precise their location data as possible. And the one who started the thread can keep a list by region in the first post.

I am near you. But would feel much better about disclosing such information by pointing a pin (or stud, if we could make it themed) on a BiM community map... Then you could say, "Oh, who else is in Ohio near my area..." and, perhaps mold some relationships with brickfilmers you wouldn't have otherwise talked to.
I really don't think that rattling off city names in separate threads would be best for the Community Forum at the present moment. 
I understand, and I don't expect anyone to just flat out tell me where they live, as I don't assume you guys are willing to spill your privacy. I think the suggestions above are very appropriate and should be considered for the future.
