Topic: I lost my Sony Vegas CD, is there anyway I can get Vegas back?

Two years ago, I bought a copy of Sony Vegas 8 Platinum. I installed it on my computer and everything was okay, but recently I restored my computer and I lost the CD, but I still have the serial number. Vegas was updated to version 9 so I can't download a trial and enter the serial number in. Is there any way that I can get Vegas back without paying to upgrade to the newest version? (And legally, of course. Please don't suggest piracy, I'm not into that kind of thing and I don't want to risk getting this thread closed). I've searched the Sony site but I can't find any answers. Thanks.

Have you tried contacting them? They might be able to give you a new serial number if you can prove that you had version 8.

I have the serial number, it's just that I lost the CD and I can't download a Vegas 8 trial off of their site anymore to enter the serial number in.

I'd call and ask anyways, to say you lost the disk, and can't get the trial.

Of what I've heard, you can contact Sony and they'll replace it.

Idk, Ihope I never have to try it...
