Topic: How many pieces do you own?

As the title suggests, just let us know how many pieces you own mini/smile

Make us all jealous, or feel a bit better when we see that a great animator doesn't have all that many bricks. Ok, so I know bricks don't make a great animator, but still.

My best estimate is that I have about 40,000 pieces. I still have a lot of sorting left to do; barely even sorted half of this.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

According to Brickset, I have 18,126 pieces. This isn't counting for the boxes of my dad's and my cousin's LEGO that I haven't added to my Brickset yet, so it may be looking at closer to 20,000. Annoyingly, what I don't have a lot of is grey bricks, which I find really useful and should probably get more of at some point. It also tells me I have 303 minifigures.

EDIT: I'd like to point out that because my parents can be real boneheads, they actually banned me from buying LEGO right from 2005 until 2010/2011 (can't quite remember which). Though I managed to get the odd polybag/minifigure here and there, my parents had decided that "I had enough LEGO" and tried to find me other hobbies. Look how well that turned out: aside from karate and occasionally sailing, I have no other hobbies but brickfilming.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

I always thought I had less than 10,000 pieces, but thanks to brickset, I have a grand total of 35,267 pieces, with a total of 507 minifigures, not bad for buying Lego for 12 years! mini/smile

Re: How many pieces do you own?

That is a lot of minigfigures. I haven't counted recently, but I estimate I have only about 250 complete minifigures.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

9023, according to BrickSet. Still, i haven't added all of my stuff on there because i'm missing some vintage sets from my dad that i couldn't inventorise yet.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

I have no idea, and the guy that voices Mark Manchester in my series just asked the question 2 days ago.  Not including the 2 Taj Mahal sets and the 4 modular buildings and the 40+ Friends sets, I'd say 20000 pieces.  But I got my first set in 1973.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

Brickset says I have 87,149 pieces.  That's actually got to be much lower than how many I actually have, because that's not including the bins I have along that wall plus a 45 gallon tub I have full of unsorted bricks.  Also, I own (which is probably almost completely accurate) 1,199 minifigures.

This picture is old, I've rearranged the stuff now but you'll get the idea of most of what ISN'T included in the 87,149 number.

Maybe a bit excessive?

Re: How many pieces do you own?

18,000 pieces according to Brickset, but that doesn't include all the assorted boxes of bricks I've been given, poly bags, or Bricklink purchases. So maybe closer to 25,000?

Re: How many pieces do you own?

I have never used Brickset, but I have 6 modular sets plus whatever other smaller sets I buy quite frequently. You can't get many big sets from stores in Australia, and the boxes never have the amount of pieces printed on them here either.

That said, once I've finished sorting all my LEGO (I hardly ever keep the original sets set up), I'm going to stocktake all my pieces on BrickStore so I can see exactly what I have. That's still probably a while away though.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

Oh my gods, Jonn, that's a huge collection! And I totally approve of Toa Ignika there mini/smile literally just got him on ebay a couple of months ago. I really wish I had that many bricks to work with, but I don't have a Saturday job (yet) and wouldn't have the space to store it.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

According to Brickset, I have 38,574 documented pieces! (Though, this number is probably not accurate, as, I've lost and traded pieces in the past, and, as I share my collection with my brother, who is also a brickfilmer, this number could be halved... even though we both use the collection equally.)

That's a LOT of bricks, and, though I always feel like I need more when filming, I've found that this number is pretty nice, as it's restrictions challenge me to find creative work-arounds! mini/smile

I think it's interesting that the average collection so far is between 15,000 and 25,000, me being just 10,000 over that! Yet, collection really doesn't mean much - it's the films that really matter. And, as I could easily brag about having a large collection, I've only released a few films, most of which before 2012. I hope that, with my next movie, I'll finally be able to get back into making shorts, and enter more contests. Then, I'll really be able to show off my collection, one film at a time!

Re: How many pieces do you own?

Probably 8000-10000. But I can also use my brother's and mom's bricks, which bring the total to 20000+ pieces...so a few. mini/wink

Re: How many pieces do you own?

Using brickset, some purchases for which I know the exact count, and my estimating abilities, I'd say I'm somewhere around 21,000-22,000 bricks. As I'm sure many of you know, that's a little low for brickfilming, but oh well.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

It's not low for brickfilming at 20000, as long a you use each piece to its fullest!

I'd love to see Kooberz collection. His sets are almost always huge.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

rrMy brother just pulled out a lot of Lego I fogot I had.  I think my number's more like 36000, not including 2 Taj Mahals and the modular builds (and all 7 Pharaoh's Quest sets)

Re: How many pieces do you own?

So add in the Taj Mahal pieces and the Pharaoh's Quest pieces, and how many does that make? must be a lot.

Re: How many pieces do you own?

35000 + 2 Taj Mahals = 47000 + modular = 57000 + pharaoh's quest, about 58500 (don't know the piece count for all 7 pq sets)

Re: How many pieces do you own?

Let's add the pieces from the Ultimate Collectors Millennium Falcon I currently have, takes me to 92,346 pieces.  Plus all the loose ones.  I can confidently say that I currently have well over 100,000 LEGO pieces.
I think I have a problem...

The way I see it, you never have enough LEGO until you have 1,000 of every set, and some.
