Toy Story 3

La Vie En Rose
The most creepy and touching film I've ever seen. Marion Cottilard is a fantastic actress, I only saw Edith Piaf through the entire thing. They had incredibly make-up design for her too. Amazing film, amazing story. I didn't know she had such an f-ed up life. I highly recommend this one. I don't agree it's for a PG-13 audience though, more 15 and upish.
5/5
Disturbia
That was pretty dang good.
Disturbia
That was pretty dang good.
Rear Window rip-off though.
I've never seen that. I haven't seen enough Hitchcock, I've only seen Psycho plus the last half of The Birds.
WALL●E
Beautiful, loved it.
Red Sun
Pretty cool western, Charles Bronson is entertaining as usual. Though the acting of 'Cristina' was horrid and Alain Delon is way too much of an egotistical ass to be enjoyable.

You should see it in the cinema. Their heads are so big that way.
Unstoppable ★★★★★
Holy crap was that intense. I absolutely loved it!
A Day at the Races (1937)
A classic Marx Brothers film. This is comedy at it's best!
5/5
Room Service (1938)
Another Marx Brothers classic. It's OK,but not as funny as "A Day at the Races",but it's kinda funny.

A Christmas Story (1983)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
Taste varies with the Harry Potter movies. I personally loved 1+2, particularly 2, hated 3 WITH A VENGEANCE, didn't particularly like 4 although the graveyard scene did redeem it slightly (plus I liked the part when the Hungarian Horntail chases Harry through Hogwarts), 5 was a big improvement but still meh for me (the fact that its the longest book yet shortest movie was kinda in-excusable since there was loads of room for more scenes to be included that although wouldn't have added to the final outcome, would have improved the pacing - which was way too fast), and 6 was surprisingly good although I again didn't like the pacing - it seems this time like their trying to include everything in the book but yet because their compressing it so much, we only get a bit of the scene and are left more confused than before. But this is all my own opinion. I know some people who hated the first two and loved the third (I personally think those people are insane...but if that's their opinion then fair enough)
But.....I really liked this one. It wasn't perfect, there was stuff I would have done differently ...but I'm not a Hollywood writer/director/producer, so I guess I'll just leave it to the professionals, who do a surprisingly good job.
I want to kiss whoever proposed the idea of splitting this movie into two parts. Right from when it was announced, I thought it was the best thing that could happen. There isn't really much you can cut from the final book before the story stops making sense. And I love how there is so much more time to slow the pace down for once. Scenes like visiting Harry's parents grave, and Hermionies reaction to Rons leaving are much more spread out. And the slower pacing of the break into the Ministry of Magic than I expected means that the whole sequence is both tense and hilarious. Just the shifty expression of Runcorn (the guy Harry impersonated) alone had me in stitches, and I never thought I could laugh so hard at two people standing awkwardly in a lift.
But the Ministry Break-In did kinda go down-hill. In the book Harry didn't change back until....actually it doesn't say...but he's still Runcorn when he's trying to escape, meaning its only until the real Cattermole (the guy Ron was impersonating) emerges that their cover is blown - which is just before they escape. I found it REALLY STUPID that no-one didn't recognise 'Undesirable No.1' instantly....and why were they not using magic? Why are they chasing them on foot? Just blast them with a full body bind curse for gods sakes! WHY ARE YOU RUNNING!?! What? Do you plan to put them in an arm lock? Just fire magic at them!! The Nazi guys (yeah...really subtle guys!) obviously can use magic, since if they were Muggles or Squibs they would be either murdered or sent to Azkaban, so why dont they just whip out their wands? And why is Yaxley (who I never imagined in the book to be bada$$ - I imagined him to be a little more like Snape as a cunning manipulator responsible for the downfall of the Ministry) chasing them on foot? Why doesn't he fly in black mist like the rest of the death eaters?? WHY IS HE RUNNING!?!
And as I said, the Nazi Ministry of Magic is really obvious. Maybe it was quite obvious in the book....but seriously? Do you really need to make the security guards look like extras from 'Indiana Jones'? I think we can tell that its a reference to the Holocaust without the uniforms. What, are they going to say "HEIL VOLDEMORT!!!" in the next movie? Are they going to start using gas when Azkaban becomes too fu- OK this joke is becoming too offensive.....sorry.....
But the movie picks up again after that. Like everyone else, I LOVED the animation sequence when telling the tale of 'The Three Brothers'. Although, I found it funny when the story says "...when a hooded figure approached them", and a figure materialises in front of them THAT IS NOT HOODED. And although I understand that its intentional....why does death look like a Dementor? I've always thought of death as a silhouette of a figure like a Black Rider - playing on the fear of things that we dont see. But I'm nitpicking. The animation was the highlight of the movie, and definitely the best animated sequence of the year - it deserves to win some kind of award.
Oh, and the scene with Harry and Hermy dancing.......wtf?
And so we reach the climax, complete with HYPER EDITING. If there is anything to lose my interest in a movie, its this. 'Quantum of Solace' is in my opinion one of the worst movies I have ever seen - just because the very first scene uses this technique, meaning I have no idea what is going on because the editor's been taking non-prescription drugs - and the rest of the action scenes follow this technique. The good news is that THIS movie only uses it very briefly, and it does kinda work by briefly creating the feeling of dis-orientation....but I still hate it.
The problem with the ending is that the build-up throughout the movie is outstanding, yet we know we're not going to get a satisfying climax because the title of the movie is 'Part 1'. So we get the feeling of disappointment about halfway through the movie because we think "this is going to have a great ending...oh wait, no its not". This inevitability kinda ruins the ending, which would have been shocking and left us hyped for the next one. Although, the ending itself is pretty cheesy. Not only does Voldemort do his best He-Man pose ("BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL!!!), but I was half expecting him to perform an evil laugh.
Oh, and DOBBY DIES!! NOOOOO!!! I HARDLY KNEW HIM!! Wait....I hardly DID know him! It kinda seemed like they quickly added in Dobby just because there was no way they could have escaped without him. I dont blame the movie, I blame the previous instalments for COMPLETELY MISSING HIM OUT.
See? This is where the 7th movie is stopped from being perfect. Its not this movies fault, its the previous movies. Because the locket is never explained in the previous instalment, we're left confused as to where it comes from. We dont know anything about the ring, because we dont see where THAT came from either, and anyone who hasn't read the book will have no idea that Harry lived in Godric's Hollow - nor will have any idea who Bathilda Bagshot is. No-one knew that Lucius Malfoy had been broken out of Azkaban...in fact, no-one knew he was in there in the first place. And there is no mention of Scrimgeour (although Bill Nighy automatically elevates anything a notch - even if it is Doctor Who Series 5 or....'Stormbreaker' *shudder*) in the previous instalment, meaning his presence is incredibly sudden. Also, the sudden appearance of both Fleur and Bill is....wrong. Again, they have merely been introduced because they need to be.
Overall: Its about as near-perfect as Harry Potter can physically get. The cinematography is absolutely outstanding, but it still has some of the flaws found when adapting novels - stuffs obviously never going to get explained right/not explained at all. And sure, 'Lord of the Rings' misses stuff out...but it just got it all right (yes, I HAVE read the books). And speaking of LOTR, the epic visual style of HP7.1 is clearly following that of Peter Jacksons adaptation, which is certainly a good thing. This is without a doubt the best shot/edited of all the Harry Potter movies (apart from the hyper-edited sequence) and I do look forward to the next one.

I hear various opinions on the new Harry Potter. I'll probably go see it after my exams are over (in three weeks). My sister said it was horrid, but my sister has the worst possible taste in everything.
Okay, most of HP7 was good. I'll put what I thought in spoiler tags:
Hedwig's death was much more heroic in the movie because she died trying to save Harry. On the other hand the last scene in Malfoy Manor is missing a few things. One they were supposed to be captured with Dean Thomas and Griphook the goblin. And Wormtail is supposed to strangle himself with the magic hand Voldemort gave him in the Goblet of Fire.
Overall it's just as confusing as the other movies. I haven't really seen a Harry Potter film that wouldn't confuse someone who hasn't read the books. With an exception of Sorcerer's Stone. Oh and the ending was completely rushed.

Oh yeah, I forgot about
Wormtail strangling himself. I HATED how Wormtail was almost comedically knocked out when their confrontation was supposed to be tense and tragic. Either they left it out because - among the many things Number 3 missed out - they missed out the 'Life Debt' storyline, or they intend, like Hedwig, to make Wormtails death more heroic (which would actually be good, since I found Wormtails death a HUGE anti-climax - although it was tragic how Harry and Ron actually try to save him)
And I didn't mind the omission of Dean. It doesn't really add to anything if you think about it. And since Griphook was already in the cellar and now has escaped with them, it doesn't matter really that we didn't see his capture.
WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR PART 2:
I didn't like how the sword of Gryffindoor was stolen, compared to the book when its a fake. Surely that contradicts the fact that a fake is in Bellatrix Lestranges vault? If it was stolen by Snape, then that means its not in the vault. And if it was stolen by Voldemort (how?), but Snape created a fake....that's totally pointless! Why not just use the FREAKING BOOK where Snape swaps the real one in Dumbledore's office for a fake and keeps the real one behind Dumbledore's portrait - and Scrimgeours reason for not giving the sword to Harry is that it belongs to the school....which is the reason they gave in the film! So what is the point in it supposedly being stolen if their is a fake in the vault, and Snape has the real one!?!?! Why are you adding a subplot to a subplot that was just as simple as it was?!

Max, I agree with you on the plot holes that previous movies didn't mention, especially the locket, I don't understand how someone that hasn't read the books can tell what the bloody hell is going on.
I wonder if anyone gave a poop or notice there apparently was a fake locket and it was taken by Sirius his brother, how can you get emotionely invested in this if your hearing it the first time?
NO!
People just wanna see Harry potter worried about stuff and somehow but don't care how he gets the horcruxes.
I just don't get mainstream audiences...
