Seriously, no. There's no reason why he should have an exception; it would take unnecessary work at a time when we're trying to build a website.
And I hate to bring this up, but I don't think Si is exactly infallible when it comes to making intelligent posts either.
1) I would not ask for special treatment
2) I think the limit at 20 seconds would be sufficient for everyone and would need very little altering in the settings of this site
3) You aren't infallible either NightOwl, if you hated to bring it up then why say it ?
You might not like or agree with some of my posts, but that doesn't make them spam, that is just a difference of opinion.
Spam is the sort of inane drivel you get on YT where people say 'Yeah First comment' - That is spam, non constructive nonsense.
Also if you search this forum, you will find several other previous posted threads on this subject. The time limit is not a popular feature at all, it's not just me there are lots of others as well who feel the same.
I appreciate that it is required and fully support having one, just lower the limit from 1 minute please.

I'd lower it to 45 seconds if I could because that should be enough to prevent problems with the database flooding, but it's hardcoded into the system so it might be a while before I can fix it - I spent quite a bit of time looking for the right variable and couldn't find the origin point for it in the code.

Indeed, that does it. I was looking at that code earlier and figured there was probably somewhere in another file where the g_post_flood variable is actually initially set, but this should suffice. The limit is 45 seconds now.

Yeah, according to punBB documentation it's not recommended to lower the flood limit under 45 seconds, but hopefully that will be a substantial enough decrease for users. Once the film directory opens, users will be making a lot more database calls than we are right now so we'd like to avoid making the server work any more than it needs to.
