Topic: The Brickfilm Post

I suppose I should post this.

I decided to make a little blog to post and review films, not necessarily for anyone besides myself and a couple friends, but I thought some of you might find it interesting. It's more personal opinion than actual review, but I wanted a place to write about brickfilms, in particular older films that don't have forum threads here. I'm not sure how often I'll post, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on some of my opinions, so drop a comment. I'm sure we disagree on some things, and I'd enjoy hearing your perspective on some of the films. If you've been around for a while you've probably seen them before, but if you're new I might post some that you haven't watched yet.

Oh, and if you'd like to see a particular film there, let me know.

Re: The Brickfilm Post

I like that idea and look forward to see some nice reviews there. Are you going to review actual films, as well?

I'm going to keep it to brickfilms.

I've been choosing pretty randomly. So far I've posted...

Daedulus and Icarus
Fallen Part 1
Doleur
Seeing Red
The Barber of Seville
Cognizance
Twelve Bucks
Edison

I uploaded Edison to Mediafire, but if anyone knows of a download link, let me know.

No no, by "actual" films I meant brickfilms as well, but also some newer films, not only some older masterpieces. mini/wink

Oh, sorry. Yes, I will probably do some newer films as well. At the moment I'm flipping through everything I have on my hard drive, so I'll get to new films eventually.

Re: The Brickfilm Post

Leo, this could truly be a big thing.  At the rate that this is expanding, this could be a legitimate online newspaper for the site.  If you ever want to expand the staff, I'd love to contribute, either in reviews, or features on techniques or trends, comics... anything, really.

Re: The Brickfilm Post

Cool!  I would have to watch some of those!  mini/bigsmile

Re: The Brickfilm Post

Dave,

I never really thought of expanding it beyond just me, but if you'd like to do that, I'm all for it. You also made a good point about adding stuff besides film reviews. It's not something I planned on, but interviews and such are also a possibility. Do you know if there is a way to allow another wordpress user the ability to author posts? I'd normally just give you the username and password, but the blog is on my Leonardo812 wordpress account, where my personal blog is as well.

Re: The Brickfilm Post

I should probably mention that this is very similar to something we'd been discussing as a possible expansion of BiM in the future.  Eventually we'd like to have a sort of critical blog about brickfilms with a small staff of regular contributors.  It won't be possible to have it here for a little while though as we're still ironing out the directory and resources.

A few more films added...

Smeagol's Star Wars trilogy and two of Nick Durron's films.
