Topic: Songs that would make good brick films.

The title asks it.
If you listen to the lyrics and the meaning of certain songs, there are
ones that would make good brick films.
Myself I would choose Hotel California.
What say you?

I feel this one really stirs the soul and leaves a long lasting impression. Would make for a truly beautiful brickfilm.

I found this song a while ago.

I feel like it would make a great music video, especially for being so underrated.

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

Already done.

I want more videos like 8-Bit Trip - more videos that don't bother with plot and just create surreal images to accompany surreal music. Stuff like this...

I knew someone would link this, I knew this link would be this song.  But Never Gonna Give You Up is totally my Jam, I'm listening to the whole thing now.

I can't really think of a song I would particularly want to see as a brickfilm.  I'm not quite as familiar with popular bands and songs as most people, I just like a few random things here and there.

The problems with making brickfilm music videos is recreating a music video as a LEGO thing can be hard due to the restrictions we have, and putting those videos on YouTube often gets us in problems with copyright stuff.

Now that I think about it, though, I would really, really like to see a LEGO Yellow Submarine by the Beatles.  I have actually seen a brickfilm version, but at a rather low frame-rate.  I'd love to see a really nice version.  I'd love to make one myself, but it might get taken down and my months of work may be wasted.  I also love the song, and might get tired of it.

Re: Songs that would make good brick films.

Any Beatles, Linkin Park, Nas, Lindsey Sterling (Violinist, I know), or Tupac song would, in my opinion, make a great brickfilm.

I feel like this would make a good video, despite its suicidal lyrics.
Maybe the lyrics doesn't even matter, it has a pretty light and upbeat feel to it.

I need a new name! HELP

Yeah. This.

I was going to do an entire Brickfilm set around the album 'Dark Side of the Moon'. I then realised I would have to create a 40min Brickfilm involving complex imagery, intense planning, and months of editing so it all fit the music. For what may have been years of work, I would have risked having not only the video being removed but my entire account being shut down.

American Pie, but done literally.  And many songs by They Might Be Giants would be great in LEGO form.
The Sheckies asked me to animate a song from their latest 7-song EP, "Fat Drunk & Stupid."  I suggested the final song, "Proud To Be a Geek", because the Lego genre would be perfect for the lyrical contentt.  After their latest tour ends, they'll have me animate.

Another New World.
I prefer the Punch Brothers version( The linked one) to the original but both are amazing.

What a funny coincidence! I was thinking about making a music video this morning while listening to Hotel California, and I thought it would make a great brickfilm.

My dad was actually saying, a few weeks ago, that it would be cool if I were to make a LEGO music video off of one of Kraftwerk's other songs, "The Robots". I guess, it could be done. I would just have to film, animate, and edit nine straight minutes of LEGO robots dancing. Plus, I don't have enough money to order a bunch of LEGO robots off of Bricklink or something. Again, it could be done...

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

You could just find a bunch of minifigures that all look the same. It doesn't have to be dancing, it could be the minifigures walking in a straight line across various locations, or even the minifigures being assembled by machines. I've always seen 'The Robots' as a metaphor for both musicians (the inspiration came when Krafterk, known for their static performance style, were accused of being robots - so they literally turned themselves into robots as a statement) and society as a whole.

Kraftwerk are just so awesomely dated. I love science fiction that predicts the merging of man and machine but doesn't predict flatscreen monitors. You could have so much fun visualising them.
