Topic: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

Post what you want to do/improve involving brickfilming in 2014

For me:
- enter my first BRAWL
- Improve story/humor of my films
- make more sound effects
- release a film every month of the year

Re: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

I want to finish Lost in Ice, it would be my second actual brickfilm. Also I want to achieve a more professional look to my films.

Publish a film every month.  Oh wait, that was last year's resolution mini/frustrated

Re: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

Start a big, 20-minute brickfilm.

no more brickfilming *sad face*.

Re: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

If I picked just one resolution, it would be to at least START a large production.

My hopeful brickfilming related resolution for next year is 1080p

Re: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

I would love to be able to push my storytelling to new heights - maybe make a film that isn't predominately comedy or drama, but is a great mix of both. Something like Henri and Edmond.

Re: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

My most important goal for this year is to release a minimum of five films, each of them no shorter than five minutes. I think that's a good goal for my first year in the industry - not too ambitious, but still a bit of a challenge.

I'd like to improve my animation and the quality of my films as much as possible, but that will come naturally as I progress.
I am going to enter BRAWL, as well.

It's going to be a great year!

Re: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

Well, I have several ambitions.  Firstly, to release at least three films that have been stewing at the back of my mind for some time now.  I also hope to enter THAC or BRAWL.

In addition, there are a bunch of smaller things I hope to achieve, such as creating a logo and overhauling my YouTube page, gaining at least 100 subscribers (if I'm doing well), and getting better at using GIMP and editing programs.  And, of course, improving my animation and film-making skills.

AquaMorph    I dunno women are expensive

Re: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

  • Release at least one film every month.

  • Try to enter as many animation challenges as I can.

  • Work out a way to keep brickfilming once I start at university in September.

All my other resolutions aren't brickfilming based.

Re: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

My New Year's resolution last year, and the only one I've ever done, was to animate every month, which was a really good idea, because I never actually got completely out of it, because I was always animating just a little at least.  Though sometimes they were just tiny tests because I was moving in the Summer.

Release at least one film every month.

Trying to release a film every month is probably not such a good idea, because then you might try to force a film out when you are not really ready, or make shorter films rather than longer films, which would probably be nicer.  It's more important to focus more on making brickfilms rather than releasing brickfilms.

I'm hoping to start this year out making Leprechauns in France then do some I Am The Night, then do the whole thing of Welcome to Darkmoor, then try to animate as much as possible for I am the Night so I can finally get that done.
I'd like to finish I am the Night early next year so I could hurry up and start the secret project, which must be released around the beginning of a Fall.

Re: Brickfilming Related Resolutions

Properly finish a film worth releasing. I've only been brick filming for about 6 months, and not very consistently. A good resolution would be to film something every month, even if its only a few scenes.

I never said they'd be 20 minutes long. Just something small to go alongside the occasional longer project, so I don't lose touch. You know, Animation Challenge entries and such.

Pun entirely intended.

On a serious note I should finish the film I've been working on since September, thought that'll likely get done in the next two months.
After that I want to make 1/2 more short films before working on a much bigger project I have in mind.
