Does anyone know how people like Keshen and Forrestfire101 apply motion blur to their animations in post production?

I don't know if they used this, but you could try Moblur
In after effects, you can easily add several types of motion blur (I know FF101 uses the program, but not sure what either one actually uses). Also, here's a thread on motion blur.
I wouldn't say that it's easy to add motion blur to any object. It takes a great deal of patience and discipline to add motion blur. I will tell you what I do, which is sure to be longer and much more painful than using other programs:
1. I open up GIMP and import two images: one without the object you want to blur, and one with the object
2. Cut the object out of the second frame
3. Put the cut-out on a separate layer
4. Blur the object layer
5. Add shadows where necessary in the object-less frame
I think I'll experiment a bit with ReelSmart Motion Blur, from what I've seen of it it looks very good. I'll try out your technique at some point aswell JP. Thanks guys!

Try taking a look at Timewarp. Set the speed to 100, tick "Motion Blur", and change the setting to "Manual". Don't change anything else, and you should be good to go.
I move my camera while it's taking the picture, that way it's legit blurring
Heres a method i use.
