Topic: Brickfilming and MOC building

Hey guys, for my next LBAM Radio show I will be talking about the two major communities, brickfilmers and MOC builders. I would love you guys opinions. I also would like to know if someone who brickfilms is also a MOC builder in your opinion, since that person has to build the props out of LEGOs. Please let me know.

Re: Brickfilming and MOC building

Good topic.  Part of Brickfilming is that we tend to build our own sets rather than use Lego's pre-made kits.  Also, we're usually fans of Lego in general if we're devoting enough time to Brickfilming, so we're likely to make our own creations.  Many of us manage our own sites on MOCpages.com or instagram or tumblr.com and some have lego.cuusoo.com projects that we dream seeing as an actual product by The Lego Group.  Still, sometimes it's handy to use pre-fab Lego kits. In Holding Our Own episode 2, I use the Fountain of Youth from the Pirates of the Caribeean series as a park fountain.  The set was missing the vinyl waterfall, a customer returned it, and whenever that happens, I'm allowed to have the Lego set for free (then I buy the missing piece for cents on bricklink.com).  So why not use it in the film?  The Sets & Props thread really showcases the innovations of MOC builders as they prepare their films.
