Topic: Community Games

I always find it hard to get to all of the 'games' (caption contest, cinematography challenge, guess the movie, ect.) because they all lie in different places, and some are in the wrong places. My solution: Create a new thread in the coffee shop titled 'Community Games.' I could include:

-Cinematography challenge
-Name that frame
-Guess the movie
-Recreate movie scenes in LEGO
-The Iron Board Edits
Possibly
-Movie Poster Thread
-WiP post and critique
-Sets and Props Post and Critique

Tell me what you think of the idea.

Re: Community Games

I don't really think that would turn out so much of a good idea squashing loads of these community games into one thread.  If anything they should all go into one forum, like they do now (ie. The Coffee Shop).

Also, if you find it hard to find the games, just use the search engine.  That's what it's there for.

Re: Community Games

I think everything is fine as is.

Re: Community Games

If anything, I would say an Index would be in order mini/smile !

Re: Community Games

Hmm...I like the idea of a forum map.  I do plan to put some site map type guidelines together once the rest of the site is ready so maybe I can keep this in mind then.

None of those are contests. They're places for people to get feedback on stuff they've made.

Re: Community Games

What Justa... is trying to say is that they are not games so they shouldn't have even been in the possibly pile because they are in no way games of any sort.

Re: Community Games

Fine. Retitle it 'community input' or something.

If you did that it would be really stuffed with millions of things.

Re: Community Games

Scratch what I said about 'community input'. Could we just make a sub-forum in the coffee shop for games?

Re: Community Games

I think the thread should have links to the specific community games. Not all smashed together, people would get angry and think it was stupid, then it either may be locked, or cast into the forums netherworld.

No, this is a punBB form, and punBB does not have the sub-forum option.

Re: Community Games

Why don't you just bookmark the games you look at? or use the search. Try thinking for yourself, it's not that hard.

Re: Community Games

fine. It appears no one agrees with me. Please close this topic.

Re: Community Games

I think I get what is being said. How about a games section of the forums?

Re: Community Games

I like one of 2 options:

A) Games Section
B) A post in The Coffee Shop with links to all of these games. This post will be a locked sticky.

Re: Community Games

I think once the site is more complete I might make a site map, including a forum section with links to useful threads in order to avoid people making threads on topics that are already covered.  I like to avoid having permanent locked, stickied threads at the top of the forum as it looks kinda messy and tends to distract the viewer a bit from the rest of the threads.
