Topic: The First Brickfilm?

Is this the right place to post this?
Edward And Friends , it used to be on T.V.O. in the early 90`s
I remember seeing this show as a kid! It was supposedly the first official brickfilm. Does anyone else remember this?

Re: The First Brickfilm?

Interesting. There seems to have been an active production of "professional" brickfilms in 1987. The original LEGO Sports was also released in that year. Then, of course there's the amateur brickfilm The Magic Portal which, while released in 1989, was made in a four year time span.

I hadn't heard of Edward and Friends before. Thanks for sharing. mini/smile

Re: The First Brickfilm?

WDLN produces also claims to be one of the oldest brickfilmers.  His The Original Movie seems to have come from 1985 and his Oh Well appears to have come from 1989.  Just thought I might throw that out there as a point of interest.

Re: The First Brickfilm?

Oh, snap! I totally forgot about Andy Boyer and David Lennie.

Epic film, brings back memories.

Re: The First Brickfilm?

Yeah, the Magic Portal was made back in the 70's or 80's.

Re: The First Brickfilm?

The Magic Portal was started in 1985 and finished in 1989. It's epic. Way better quality than most modern day brickfilms. mini/smile

Re: The First Brickfilm?

I bet someone must have thought of "Stop motion with legos" But didnt post it on the web. Put 2 and 2 together.

Re: The First Brickfilm?

The Internet "as we know it" wasn't invented until 1989 by a British guy.(Can't remember the name.)

That's right! *donks self on forehead.*

Re: The First Brickfilm?

I thought the earliest known brickfilm came out before The Magic Portal, and was made by a teenage girl.

It was on Wikipedia somewhere.

Interesting. Unfortunately, most of the information (including history of brickfilming) was edited out of the Brickfilm article.
