Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

Watching the new episode as we speak (I know. A bit late; but I was out grocery-shopping). The opening theme sequence has just ended, and it's about to get good. mini/bigsmile

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

Anyone else notice some new things in the latest episode?

Stan's fez has a new symbol and the credits have a new code.
The title sequence has a new reversed message to go with the code: "26 letters". This refers to the Letter Numbers code (see the first post in this thread).

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

I noticed the new fez right off, but I haven't decoded any of the messages so I wouldn't know about the new one.

And I didn't particularly like the newest episode, especially Mabel's story (lying so Grunkle Stan didn't have to receive fair punishment? I know he couldn't have gone to jail or the show would get really weird, but they didn't need to go the route they did). What I'd really like to see more of is those books, since we know Dipper has the one with the "3" on it, and Gideon has one with a "2," and they hold secrets to the forest, but that's about all.

Well, the whereabouts of the first book ("1") might be revealed at some point.
It's been hinted (not within the show) that there are only three books.

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

I decoded the code thing at the end
it said
"Next up: Footbot 2: Grunkle's Grevenge"

I don't get it

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

Well, tonight's episode was pretty "off", IMO. I dunno, but they've had better episodes in the past. Today's was still good, though.

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

Yeah, I agree it was good, but not the best. Better than some, though. And I'm still hoping for more about the Book(s).

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

I was laughing so hard.  That was a delightful episode. I hope the boys come back eventually.
I think it was one of the best.

Nice punny name.  Nice hand-drawn chars.

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

It was a pretty good episode over all, but it was really reminiscent of the one with the president who kept himself alive in peanut brittle. Other than that, I did like it.

Spoiler (click to read)

Mabel: "Oh, is someone talking? Because I CAN'T HEAR THEM!"
Prospector: "Oh no! She's gone deaf with fear!"

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

It was a pretty alright episode, I'm liking that they're bringing the elements of the show that I felt made it so distinctive and stood out (the silly supernatural stuff) back, because I've felt like this half of the season has been kind of lacking those elements. The jokes weren't as good as they usually are (though there was some good ones in there)

Spoiler (click to read)

"I'll call it Jurassic... Sap Hole!"

The animation was kind of more sub-par than usual in this episode, I wasn't sure why.

I did enjoy it though, it was a pretty fun episode, and there were some nice moments. Can't wait for next week's episode.

Did I mention here I might end up meeting Alex Hirsch? The program I got accepted into for animation for a month, CSSSA (held over at CalArts for High School Students) has guests come in and work with the students, and Alex has been tweeting some messages to the program's twitter about how great his experience was there when he went when he was in High School, so if it ends up that he's one of the mentors this year that'll totally be awesome.

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

Some of the humour was kind of forced. I didn't find it all that funny, but I have to laugh at Grunkle Stan's "ridiculousness".

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

I didn't get to see the new one, I was in Idaho that day. mini/sad

I hope they'll re-run it when I get back to Texas.a

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

I finally caught up on watching the episodes.

It won't be a cliffhanger for long, I see. The next episode, the season finale, is airing in two days!

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

The only time they re-run the episode I missed is this Friday. I guess it'll be a Gravity Falls Double Feature for me!

Re: The Gravity Falls Discussion Thread

Oh yeah I'm looking forward to the season finale so much. I missed the last episode too so I'll have to watch that one as well.
