Topic: An issue with my account name!

I know this is a petty question, of which many members could easily respond, "It's your own fault; should of though more carefully about your username." But, back in April when I created this account, I was tossing up between naming myself 'Carousel' or 'Cosmonaut', and you guessed it, 'Cosmonaut' won out. Since then, my opinion has totally changed, and I much prefer Carousel, and would also like to jettison Cosmonaut into space...

Carousels have a likeness to a film reel; one has different horses revolving around it, the other has many individual pictures revolving around it. So with the differing horses on a carousel, although inanimate, when they spin fast enough, they appear to be moving, and the same basic ideal is also shared by stop-motion. If you play the frames fast enough, you end up with a moving picture. I'm also working on a logo to reflect it...

As I'm preparing to launch my films by the end of the year (hopefully!), I've begun setting up various accounts to promote my content (Twitter, Facebook Page, Eurobricks etc.), and all shall be under the name of Carousel. So this leaves a discrepancy with my Bricks in Motion account, that may confuse people and distract from my actual creations.

So I'm torn on what I should do (and what I can't do) :

- Suck it up and keep the name Cosmonaut.
- Make my Avatar and Signature clearly say in some way 'Carousel'... which may lead to more confusion.
- Somehow change it, don't know if it's even possible (probably not).

Any other ideas or opinions on what I should do?

Thanks,
Carousel, or is it Cosmonaut... mini/lol

Re: An issue with my account name!

Lol dude, this happens all the time, it's no big deal because the community here is pretty small. Just ask a mod to change it for you and they will. mini/smile
And I think you should be called Carouselnaut

Re: An issue with my account name!

Carouselnaut... Hmmm, I like it... Anyway, whom should I contact to change my name? Thanks.

Re: An issue with my account name!

Hazzat, Jargon and Smeagol would all work.

Re: An issue with my account name!

'tis a lie! Sméagol is the only one who can change usernames. If you ask me, I'll just reply with a link to where you can contact him. mini/tongue

Re: An issue with my account name!

Looks like I can change it, technically, but my role as Admin is on Spambot clean up so I don't want to exceed my authoritay.

Re: An issue with my account name!

Same here.  I would suggest contacting Smeagol through a PM.  You can do this here.

Re: An issue with my account name!

It's okay, dude. Everyone has that problem. I signed up with my YouTube name, and decided that wasn't as creative as some of the names on here. So, I decided to change my name to Mickey (which is a fun little twist on my last name Mickelson. I had no idea that it was the same name as a guy from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure).

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: An issue with my account name!

Well, I'm glad it's not an unattainable request! Thanks for all the supportive comments, and I'll contact Sméagol soon (although I did already contact Jargon).

Re: An issue with my account name!

How dare you bother me with such petty requests? Looks like I'm going to have to warm up the banhammer.
