He does that for a job? Really? He should start studying design theory pretty hard, or look into other career paths.

Wow, ouch that was rude. I thought Admin's were supposed to be respectful. Plus this was just for fun. It's not like I paid for this.
I highly doubt that Sean meant it in a rude way; I think it was more disbelief that someone would design logos as their only source of income. The logo looks fine, though I know there have been many arguments about the definition of a "logo" on this site.
Sorry I meant he is a graphic designer sorry silly me.

Sean isn't even on staff, let alone an admin...
It's pretty bad graphic design work, but from the site you linked in chat it looks like maybe the guy is more of a web dev person than a trained designer. Something being made quickly and for free doesn't excuse it being bad, I mean the colors don't go together and it's not really even a logo per se.
THAT SAID I don't see the point in being too harsh about this sort of thing. There are incompetent people working in any industry. It's just always a little surprising to see poor work from somebody who's making a living doing it.

What about his status thingy under his profile pic? Shouldn't it say "member"?
I actually think it's a pretty good logo, but it does look a little amateur-ish. Not that I am very familiar with graphic designing myself.
true RB and I agree with smeagol
As a graphic designer myself, I can see the thought behind the logo, but it's pretty ''flat'' and the colors are not really fitting.

I asked him if he could use brown or bluish-purple or maybe even white since those are complimentary colors to gold but he made green.
When I design logos I like to take my idea to this flow chart to see how it does http://mos.computerarts.co.uk/pdf/CAP148_chart.pdf I don't think your logo is well a good logo and this chart should help explain why and ways to create a good one.
I'm not staff, or an admin. I've just been around a while. I do apologise for coming across harshly, perhaps I was feeling a bit out of sorts that day. Smeagol pretty much summed up what I was attempting to convey:
There are incompetent people working in any industry. It's just always a little surprising to see poor work from somebody who's making a living doing it.
I have done multimedia design for years as a job, and continue to do so on a freelance basis whilst studying games design. I would hesitate to call that a logo. It could be called branding, perhaps. Either way, it is not very well done at all. I have perhaps been jaded from this community where multitudes of people would take a photo of a minifig or a brick, slap some bad wordart over the top and call it a logo. Realbrick summed it up:
It's not a logo, it's stylized text on a background.
I stand by what I said about studying design theory. If I was hiring someone for a graphic design role and that was presented as an example of their work, I would not hire them. If graphic design is really an industry he wants to work in, he needs to pick up his game. Smeagol mentioned that he might be more of a web developer than a designer - that makes sense. Without wanting to stereotype, a large portion of developers/programmers I've worked with don't have much of a clue about good design (though thankfully there are exceptions to the rule).
It's looks bad i hate it and it's too bland
While I must agree with those saying it's not technically a "logo", it is more memorable and nice than what a lot of people on these forums have. I don't think it looks terrible, but if you could incorporate some sort of actual logo, it would help your brand significantly. The key is making it memorable. There is no real need for a logo though when you are doing this as a hobby and just for fun. (though a cool logo can make things even more fun

What does that face have to do with anything?
@Chiro That meme means "seriously". But what KT said is very rude. True, he ways giving feedback. But, he didn't have to be overly negative and childish like that.
I'm remembering why I don't hang around here much anymore. Overt and un-constructive rudeness along and trying to back it up with memes? This place used to have an element of maturity.
