And at almost the same instant, the entirety of brickfilm kind looked at the video, then watched it again, and again, and again, and then looked at their videos, and few did not feel under accomplished.
This is great! The animation is great, the lighting's great, it's all done very well!
Unless another film like Henri & Edmond comes out, I have a feeling we have a candidate for best Brickfilm!
Thankyou for blowing my mind.
Dude, this was just... wow. I mean, holy crap.
You captured the energy of the song perfectly, the animation was perfect, the masking was perfect, the lighting was perfect, the flow of the film was perfect, this film was just... perfect. The little details like the minifigure flawlessly playing the piano in sync with the music, the way the light bounced off the minifigures, the way you had an event for every highlight on the song. I am truly speechless.
Seriously, this is one of my favorite brickfilms ever.
That was one of the best brickfilms of all the times. I love the lighting, the drummer, the facial animation (it is very funny), the perfect masking and also the great and the crazy camera movements. The moment when everything is flying (min 2:46) is very epic. It's very probably that this is gonna be the film of the year.
That was so beautifully done I almost cried. I want to know all your secrets NXT, what are you hiding from us...
Seriously though, this blew me away. Fantastic animation (I particularly liked all those jumps), awesome lighting, nice facial animations and of course, to some great music.
Overall... this is incridible! I loved the music, I loved the lighting, I loved the animation, I loved the special effects! So, I loved everything. So amazing when the artists flew and played and mouth animation suprsided. That's da*n amazing. Just keep these going.
This is probably the best LEGO music video ever. The lens flares were realistic looking and worked well. It's interesting how parts of this video are similar to the official one, like the stage and the lighting. I really liked how at the end it just kept getting crazier and crazier. The amount of flying was insane.
4/5? Who's the pshyco who gave this?
I'm just echoing the masses here, but seriously, this is what I feel. WOW! WHAT DID I JUST SEE! THE AWESOMENESS?!! MY EYES!!!
Dramatics aside, this is the most fantastic brickfilm ever in many aspects. Personally, the lighting just blew me away. You nailed it so perfectly. That said, it wasn't perfect in all aspects (though as the creating artist, you probably know that )
The biggest flaw, as a couple others have said, was the mouth animation. It was animated very well, but it wasn't integrated into the other footage very well. It had a very "pasted on top" look to it. Messing with the blending and stuff would greatly help. It doesn't really detract from the enjoyment of film as a whole (indeed, I like it in there), but still, it could definitely be improved.
Second (and this is really just an opinion of mine that seams a little different from most of the others, not necessarily a flaw of the film), I thought that the animation was very good, but not spectacular. There were moments, but the animation didn't really blow me away. You did the camera moves amazingly though. You probably did most of them digitally (if not... ), but so what, they all just worked so well. I also loved the frenetic pace of it. I thought it really added to the film.
Overall, AMAZING. I was impressed by the frames you posted in the "Frame from your upcoming film" thread. But in no way did expect this result. I was astonished. Great job. I have always loved your Viva la Vida video, but I think this beats it out. More so for the, again, amazing lighting in this than for any story or pacing flaws in Viva la Vida. I, for one, was never really bothered by you trying to tell a story with that video. After all, the song basically tells a story, but I digress...
Ouawaow that was great... I'm voting for that next time there's a BiM awards thing, no matter what else is nominated.
That was also a great song, I had never heard it before. It sort of reminded me of like Electric Feel by MGMT or something like that.
I have a question... How did you make the lights? Were they real or photoshopped, I'd like to know because I'd like to try doing that for a video... Also, what sort of apparatus was supporting your camera? One of my favorite aspects was the complex camera movements, they looked so real
Amazing! The movements were perfectly synchronized with the song itself, and the lighting and camera movement was great as well. As others have said, the mouth animation seemed a bit off, though. Aside from that, brilliant!
(And now that picture you posted in the "Frame From Your Upcoming Film" topic makes sense as well. )
My head exploded from all the awesomeness.
... AMAZING good gob.!!!!
Foster the people retweeted the video. Expect the views to be infinite.
AMAZING you should do tutorials on this.
That was one of the best brickfilms I have ever seen amazing! You should totally make more stuff like this!
