Topic: Legends of Chima discussion thread

Title is self-explanatory. What do you think of the leaked images of LoC?

If you don't know what Legend of Chima is, it's a not-yet-released LEGO theme, sort of like Ninjago.

As suspected, the cool wing pieces on the Arkham Asylum gate are used for the bird-Chima-people.

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

There's not too much there, but so far it just reminds me of the Lego racers from the early 2000s.  Anyways, as long as they make new pieces and useful minifigures it's good enough for me.

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

From the looks of it, it just looks like yet another supernatural, pseudo-mythical theme that will most likely involve "find all the magical artefacts before the bad guys do!" plotline.  I'm not really excited for it.  Though of course there is very little to go on...

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

From what I've seen of it, it looks like a LEGO Beyblade with animal-suit (like cats and wolves) people fighting.

Well, well, well. Fabuland meets the Hunger Games, eh?

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

Some of the sets sound kinda cool.  I like the whole jungle theme, and there aren't too many expensive ones.  Hopefully though they aren't all just the vehicles.  That was one of my main issues with Ninjago, there weren't enough medieval japanese buildings or anything.  Hopefully this theme can fix that trend.

As suspected, those new wing pieces are being used for the bird-Chima-people.

And after getting a closer look at the Speedorz, they actually look pretty cool. I'll be getting at least one of the Speedorz. mini/smile

Edit:
It looks like the boxes of the sets with Speedorz a glowing orb on it with a number. Apparently, that is supposed to be some material that the Chima people are fighting over. I wonder if each set comes with some special amount of it, or maybe a card with a certain amount....:shifty:

I actually love the look of this theme, I hope to get some sets.

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

Meh, this this is looking even worse than Ninjago... and that's saying quite a bit. mini/blankexpression   Still, it looks like there are going to be some interesting pieces, so it's possible (though unlikely) that I may get a set.  At least there's a return of the spring-loaded launchers, instead of those useless flick-fires...

And that rock in the background of the first new picture (the one of the box art of the bird-thing) in the upper right-hand corner bears a strange resemblance to Boba Fett's Slave I... mini/tongue

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

Offtopic: The name Speedorz is kinda similar to Go-ongers Speedor , wait a minute it is!

Ontopic: However i would recall this theme a bad one , it kinda gets ugly and i would not recommend Buying the sets.

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

Yeah, upon further inspection these are very tacky. I suppose these things were designed to pander to a younger age group because it seems that the designer focused on play value rather than elegance or awesome factor. Which is not inherently a bad thing, but I'm not quite as interested in it because of this.

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

From the looks of it, it probably won't be all that useful for brickfilming in general. But I might grab a few sets to just play with.

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

They don't look that great, but I'm really digging those wings, a lot if cool things can be done with those. mini/smile

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

I have wings!

WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG...SAH!!!

mini/tongue
I agree, the wings do look pretty awesome. And all of those breastplate pieces look pretty cool, too.

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

It's a little premature to judge the theme, but it does look like it'll offer lots of new and interesting pieces, so that does pique my interest.

Re: Legends of Chima discussion thread

Meh. I don't think that this theme will be useful. I especially don't like it because of the lack of humans. And they're cancelling Ninjago! I didn't even get to buy all the sets! If Ninjago will be off the shelves soon, that means there might not be another theme WITH Ninjas!
But I do like the wings, as well as some other pieces.
Sorry, but that's just my opinion.
