I don't think i'm going to try that mouth animation again in the future...
Or should I? What do you guys think?

Re: Déjà Vu

Wonderful cinematography on this! When I saw the frame you posted I was thinking that I didn't like the color grading, but it fits perfectly with the mood of the film. This is a very well produced film I think. Some minor bumps here or there, but nothing that takes away from the film. I had to watch it a second time to get some of the things, but I'm sure this is natural. For instance, I didn't realize that Patrick was the one in bed in the very first shot. I should've paid closer attention I suppose. I only noticed after a second viewing and someone who commented on the video. I'm still attempting to understand the complexity of what happened. Perhaps I'm just not fully understanding it. The mouth animations I thought were actually pretty good. If you don't like the time that it takes to do them in post, I would suggest adding more body movements and arm gestures when animating during the dialogue sequences.

Keep up the great work!

Re: Déjà Vu

A very enjoyable film mini/smile
I liked it. The cinematography was very nice!  Some people on YouTube disliked the gory stuff. I don't. I have no problem with the gory, as long as it is justified. In this movie, that part of the style and the gory is essential to the plot, without it, the déjà-vu impression would totally be destroyed. The script was well though through with some minor flaws and "to complexe to understand at first sight" The probability of not noticing these other traces the first time is sort of unrealistic. mini/confused  One could argue : " mini/madhead Hellooo, this is a brickfilm! It's not meant to be realistic" true, but in detective stories and horror even more, realism is something that is very important, without which the plot could not be. The mouth animation was outstanding, a shame you don't want to continue with it, it works really well!
Awesome stuff going on anyway! Work on these little things and everything else is perfect!  The lenght of th evideo is surprising and very well managed. Making the movie a little longer would have allowed more character development and much more tension and a creschendo scary mood up building.
Keep up the good work though and great job on this cool little film mini/smile

Very Nice Olsonstudios.

The atmosphere is dark your BF. Which is not easy with LEGO. You have very good lighting effects, especially with the passage of cars at roadsides.

Thanks for comments and feedback guys! Really appreciate it.

Re: Déjà Vu

I loved it. As I've mentioned on YouTube: I really liked the beginning scene where July smoked, that looked very professional and I might've seen it already in brickfilms a few times but it didn't look as good. Also, as everyone else have mentioned, the cinematography in this film is brilliant. I have to agree with RepellingSpider though because I too got the whole July thing confused but it probably just happened to me because I didn't notice Patrick in the beginning bed scene as well. I thought it was Dan, until I watched that scene again. Otherwise I think you did a perfect job of making the script into a film, Spencer. And the script is just awesome. The whole idea of this film is really brilliant, the final twist was perfect. You and Vik did a really great job.

Re: Déjà Vu

Thanks Tobias! I appreciate it! Vik  did do a great of writing the script. And I agree that I could have made it more apparent that it was Patrick she was sleeping with, because that's more or less, what gives the film tension until the end.

Re: Déjà Vu

Nice. I really appreciate this film. Short enough, long enough. Well done.
I must try to put dialogue in my movie too.... :-)
