Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

mini/eek Great job on bodies, but the weapons could use some improvement. What are their uses?

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

If the robots are supposed to be large mechs they are definitely too small, and I agree with Sonoflarry, the weapons need more detail; but it's a good start. mini/smile

Here's a set from my upcoming film, most likely titled Enlightenment.

Here's one camera view of the set; the foreground is an older building and the background is newer, that's all I'm saying. (it has meaning in the film)

The EL has some sharp corners, but not quite like that.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

The buildings look good, backyard.
If you want to make the older building look a little run-down, put a few grey ridged bricks into the wall.

Also, I think you should put some light grey plates over the sidewalk part of the road to make it look more like a sidewalk.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

The older building isn't necessarily run down, in fact it's probably kept up quite well (the film is in a Brave New World inspired distopia); and I like the idea of the grey plates for sidewalk, I'll probably use that in the future, but if I did it now it would be in-congruent with some shots that have already been filmed. mini/frustrated

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I'm afraid those windows are a bit un-naturally close to the ground. Other than that, it's beautiful. Maybe one or two extra layers of bricks on the bottom?

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

You've never seen windows that go down to the ground? It's pretty common in more modern high rises. And before anyone says anything about the one building being older, the film takes place in the future.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I realize that many highrise buildings have windows that go all the way to the ground, but they usually don't have that style of window so close to the ground.

Here's Tony Stark's workshop.

It's not supposed to be movie accurate or anything. I'm reasonably pleased with it, even if it is a little dusty right now.

bumpy. well, seeing as no one else is going to comment on Zach's post (sorry Zach mini/sad ), I think it is time I could put up a pic. What do you guys think of this microscale battleship? It's supposed to go in the background of a shot to look like a real massive battleship at a harbor.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Whoa, that's pretty cool! The only complaint I have is that gap between the nose and the rest of the ship. It looks pretty ugly next to everything else.

Eh, I don't know. What if you put some gray clay between the gap?

So yeah, I'm back from my mind.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

yeah, the gap. I don't really like it either, but I was thinking that maybe it wouldn't matter since it would be out of focus, as a background prop. But I could try and fill it in anyway.
