Topic: The Secret Society

The next Original Brick Series from Shrambo Studios is now in Pre Production and for now the working title on the series is The Secret Society.
The series is about an organization working outside the Goverment that battles the things that go bump in the night.
Full script is now done and story boarding has begun.
I don't have set date yet for this series but will update it as it moves along.
Here is a few lines from the script.

Beckett “You can relax now Quinn, you’re free.”
Quinn “Free? How is this free? You just made my situation a lot worse by breaking me out of prison?”
Beckett “Don’t worry Quinn, soon you will be completely off the grid. No one will be able to find you.”
Quinn GRABS a GLASS OFF the TABLE and THROWS IT AGAINST THE WALL SMASHING IT.  HE LOOKS BACK AT BECKETT

Stay tuned.

Re: The Secret Society

Can't wait Antonio! Sounds pretty good.

Re: The Secret Society

Ooh, definitely interested in this idea! I've always had a soft spot about secret organisations, really looking forward to seeing how this turns out mini/smile

Re: The Secret Society

Have decided to scrap story boarding for this series.
I have a very good idea how I want it to look visually and the shots I need to do.
Filming and editing on this series will be a lot more demanding then what it was on Union City.
I was happy with Union City, but learned from certain things I did that I will not do with this series.
I also plan to employ a two camera system for this series to improve the quality of cinematograhpy.
As well I plan to implement the editing system I plan to use with my batman movie when I get around to filming it.
Only filming one scene at a time and then will edit that scene as long as it meets my expectations.
If not then there will be a lot of reshooting going on.
Really trying to get my filming to the next level and really hope this will be the break thru I need.
Stay tuned.

Re: The Secret Society

Interesting concept, hope you change the title before it is released though.
Also are you looking for any voice actors for this project?
I would be interested.
Also do you have a planned date to releases it?

Re: The Secret Society

Hey Outsider.
No voice parts are all filled but thanks for asking.
No I do not have a set date for release yet.
Hoping to begin building sets today.
Stay tuned.

Re: The Secret Society

Finished 3 of the four sets today.
Hope to begin filming next week.
Stay tuned.

Re: The Secret Society

If you want some advice (and I'll assume you do, since you started a thread), consider storyboarding. I know you've said you have a solid mental idea of what the film will look like- but if we're being frank, your previous films have been severely lacking in interesting cinematography. Almost all scenes are shot from above eye-level, many are straight on and flat-lit. If you think about it from a general filmmaking standpoint, how many blockbuster films do you see where 90% of the shots are looking down on the actors? If you organize your thoughts on paper, I think you might be able to see the disparity between your ideas and their implementation and adjust accordingly. You have to understand that-

I also plan to employ a two camera system for this series to improve the quality of cinematograhpy.

-this isn't going to improve your cinematography. If you're choosing boring shot compositions, the result is going to be dull, regardless of how much you alternate between them. You need to have a decent idea of what you want a shot to look like before you film. Setting up cameras wherever they fall and hoping they capture something you like is probably not going to turn out well. You're obviously already putting a lot of work into this film. Isn't it worth the relatively small extra effort to make sure it turns out the way you envisioned?

Best post ever. mini/tongue

Though storyboarding does take a lot of work it is worth it. I only storyboard longer films (the ones I care about) but I should probably get in the habit of doing more.

Thanks for this Squash.
I really want to improve on the cinemaotraphy for sure.
I have started story boarding it and will revisit it.
Just a very taxing process is all, and at the end of the day I am very tired from my job.
But I know if I want to make something some sacrifices have to be made.
Thanks for your input.
Look for your review once it is up.
Stay tuned.

Re: The Secret Society

Looks okay. But the whole outside the Goverment theme has been done to death, hopefully you can pull it off. If it were me personally I would stay from that theme and just concentrate on preparing something that has worked for me and by that I mean I would stick to making more Union Cities. At least you know you are in your element there. Just some friendly advice is all.

Re: The Secret Society

Nice banner, Antonio. By the way, is this the series where you're going to use the old Agent minifigs? Or is that another series?
