You know, I really enjoyed this film.
Most of the Batman films that have Robin going against Batman's orders turn out stupid, but this one was great.
Alfred's reactions to the news was hilarious, and well done. And the voice actors were fantastic. Most of the animation was really smooth, but I did notice some rough spots.
Overall, a very good Batman film if I may say so myself.
One question though, last time I checked, switching into/out of the Batsuit was a little more.....physical than that, and it couldn't just come off so easily, so was there any particular reason you did it that way?
That film was very entertaining to watch. That eyelid animation was AMAZING! It was very realistic. The voicing was very well done too (especially the Joker's voicing). The animation was pretty smooth as wel,l but the minifigures could have been faster when punching each other. Also, the gas was not very realistic and it didn't blend well with the animation. All in all, I really enjoyed your film and I look forward to your future videos!
Thank you guys!
Pritchard Studios -- for a few reasons, it made things simple for the animation, and just seemed cool, but also I needed a quick way for Bruce to realize that it was Robin. Also, when attempting a "traditional" costume change I found that Batman's mask when on the Robin minifigure didn't quite look right with his smile, and the eyes. So, when Robin (dressed as Batman) looked up, I kept his face completely black.
Incredible! I espicially liked the part in the eend where Robin used his grappling hook. That looked very realistic.
Like Pritchard said, it is nearly impossible to see a decent LEGO Batman film. Most of them are thrown together with copyrighted music (and probably a shot of Indiana Jones running for his life hidden somewhere) and bad camera quality. But, I gotta say. This is definitely not one of those films.
I especially liked the score. Matt Bell was his name, am I right? Tell him he did a very good job.
I absolutely loved the effects and story. I can't wait for more films! and thanks to you, I wanna make my own batman film. I seriously cant wait
You really captured that dark but humorous mood of the Tim Burton Batman universe. The animation was pretty damn good, so was the cinematography (though a bit more movement could have been employed). I look forward to your future films.
A DECENT BATMAN FILM!
I'm glad these are actually becoming less and less rare now, a while ago there were almost none at all.
The Joker's voice was the best part, seriously, that was nice. Only thing I think really needs improvement it the set design. The blue wall with random black bricks isn't exactly appealing.
Impressive work, That1LegoKid. It's refreshing to see a LEGO Batman film on YouTube that's actually executed as well as this (and have Robin act as a competent counterpart instead of a punchline like he's so often relegated to).
The animation had a few nice touches (I liked the falling-to-his-knees animation when the henchman knocked the guy out with the frying pan), and the story was nice and evenly-paced. If there's one technical nitpick I had, I wasn't a fan of how you achieved focus pulls in this (taking one frame with one subject in focus, switch the focus in the next, and then blend them together).
The voice acting was probably the film's strongest asset; you did good work as Robin, and LordJazor was marvelous as The Joker.
