Topic: The 7th Company.

I've decided to take the tried and true 'serious war-movie' angle and give it a Eastern spin. Most movies tell of hero's fighting for freedom, AMURICKUH, etc. This story comes from one of my favorite times in history (the cold war) when the Sovetskaya Armiya invaded (Russian Army) Afghanistan. It's pretty much about the day to day struggles of the average conscripted Soviet Soldier fighting a guerrilla war against the mujaheddin. I wanted some personalized scenes but some large battles involving Helicopters (I've always had a thing for the Mi-24 Hind) and maybe even MiGs. I was wondering if anyone had any creative input for this or advice.

Re: The 7th Company.

To make it more interesting I would add some stuff thats not fighting, for example show whats going on at the base camp or something

My website is in construction!

Re: The 7th Company.

Yeah I think you should tell the backstory of some soldier (he has a wife and kids for example or he has a dying father) to make the audience connect with the character so he wouldn't be just another soldier, then you could introduce the other characters (soldiers) through that one soldier with backstory (he's just been sent to join the troop and he's new there).

Re: The 7th Company.

I like both ideas, I'm going to try to research this topic as best I can because to be honest I poking for realism rather than entertainment value, although entertainment is always nice.
