I just noticed they are making Cowboys Vs. Aliens into a film. Ought to be cool, I liked the comic. If they can build up the right atmosphere they'll be set.

Don't. You just think you have the right to, because it's 3D is cool, and they think that that's all the cool they'll need for their film, so they don't work as hard on the story. But such films as Up and Coraline (the latter of which I have not seen yet, but have good reviews for) have proved them WRONG, man.
Cool just doesn't do it, you need some substance. Or to put it simply, NO DESERT BEFORE DINNER!!!
