Absolutely fantastic. My favorite brickfilm of the year, by far. The gags were hilarious, and the voice acting was superb. I also appreciate that you managed to add some depth outside of pure comedy as well. It's so easy to bond with Henri and Edmond, and makes the whole film just... heartwarming. I really cannot overstate how much I loved this film.

Seriously, if anyone is doubting whether this is worth the half hour it takes to watch: don't. It is worth every second. Watch it as soon as the opportunity arises.

Re: Henri & Edmond - Copyright

Sublime, un chef-d'oeuvre.

I agree with you, Squash... Brickfilm of the year! mini/bigsmile

Iguana (Maxime Marion) is french, and his brickfilm is in french...

We're in an english website, but we can write in French for the French directors, and there's no rules against that...

Also, it doesn't help your argument when you've mangled your English grammar so badly.

As for the film: this is something that hasn't been seen in the brickfilming community for a long time. This is what comedy really is, not the two minutes or less dynamic duo quick-zinger-or-two-and-its-over shorts we've been churning out in such great quantity for the past few years.

But what I think really pushes the film from a 9/10 to 10/10 for me is that fact that it's in French and subtitled into English. Hearing the action occur in a foreign language and then being able to understand more or less (there were some translation issues, mostly syntax) what is going on at the same time really generates a new and exciting experience for me. And I've watched the other Henri and Edmond films, so that is saying something.

Overall, great job! Thanks for the BiM Christmas present.

Re: Henri & Edmond - Copyright

You know the film is good when you see it in a different language with subtitles and later recall scenes being spoken in English. I will have trouble sleeping tonight, it is downright freaky to experience said effect.

@LASF What I said was, "Very good! I enjoyed the film, beautiful animation! Your sound, animation, and story was good. Keep up the good work!" You were close mini/tongue.

@Lord Lajaka Iguina is a French man, the entire film is in French, and he speaks French on YouTube, so I just thought I'd give something to him in his native language.

Everything about this film is perfect- the sets, the animation, the cinematography, the voice acting and everything else are all just amazing. It was extremely witty, I laughed quite a few times. There were even parts that were emotional, and you pulled them off fantastically.

I hope to see more of these films, they're amazing.

Man, this film was fantastic. The animation, voice acting, visuals, and especially the score was amazing. Clever storyline and real funny jokes. Really felt like I was watching a movie in the cinema, it had that very cinematic feel which is great. By far the best brickfilm of the year, hands down.

I really want to see more of your stuff, just so great.

Re: Henri & Edmond - Copyright

Amazing film. Best brickfilm from 2011 by far. Those are amazing. The animation, humour, sets, and photography is incredible. If you are using a DSLR-camera, would you mind telling me what lens you have? Just got Canon 600D but without any form of macro lens.
My only real problem with the film is the ending. It felt to me like it went too "anti-piracy", which is OK, but it was enough to make it feel like a commercial of some sort.

Anyway, great film. Hope to see more from you.

My old YouTube is since long ago defunct - now even removed.
Here is my new one.

Re: Henri & Edmond - Copyright

Thank you for all your comments. I'm really glad that those months of hard work end up with so many good reviews.

Filip, I'm getting your point, but let me clear up some things. The movie uses current political events as a basis for the storyline. Especially now, in France, we are talking about the evolution of anti-piracy, and it is sometimes frightening... really !

With this film, I'm not trying to encourage people downloading illegally music and films (the opening), and I'm not trying to promote anti-piracy (the ending)... I'm simply trying to make people think (and laugh !) about this sticky situation and its totalitarian drifts, but with humour, only humour.
Even the ending text message is a joke, and I'm a bit worried that some people *could* think it was done "seriously". In fact, I was more afraid, in the beginning, that "pro-anti-piracy" companies would ask me to remove this film from youtube...

The movie was done for free, I didn't have subsidies for its creation, and I'll never earn money out of it.

Re: Henri & Edmond - Copyright

I have to thank you, so much. This is the most fun I've had watching a brickfilm, especially of this length, in such a long time. It amazes me that you spent so much time working so hard  on something of this quality, where you aren't going to see a single cent come out of it; that's a level of dedication I think a lot of us here wish we had.

Again, thank you, and I eagerly await whatever you have planned next.

Hello Maxime,

Your brickfilm is outstanding, technically perfect and with beautiful sets! It is also subtle and very funny (with a few jokes only alsatians can understand...) We really appreciated having the privilege to see it on a big screen 3 times! (thanks for having given us this opportunity!)
This is a REAL MASTERPIECE!  mini/sunnies

See you!
France & Alex.

That wasn't a brickfilm...that was art.
Everything about it was spectacular. Literally everything. I loved the fact there was an amazing mix of not only the action and gags, but the heartfelt parts.
Absolutley fanstastic.

Ce n'était pas une brickfilm ... qui était l'art.
Tout était spectaculaire. Littéralement tout. J'ai aimé le fait qu'il était un mélange étonnant de ne pas seulement l'action et de gags, mais les pièces du fond du cœur.
Absolument fanstastic.
