Topic: Spray Painting Lego Bricks, Yes or No?

Recently I have started designing the main set for my first "brickfilm" in about 3 years and just as I was getting started I realised I would not have enough bricks of the desired colour to finish the build, I then had a brainwave and thought instead of buying more bricks of that colour I just go down to the D.I.Y shop and buy some spray paint in the colour I want and just paint the bricks myself, before I do this I wanted to ask if anyone has any experience in doing this and whether it's a good idea... So, is it?

I don't think it would be a good idea, the cracks between the bricks wouldn't show unless you painted each brick individualy. Check out bricklink where you can get parts very cheap: http://www.bricklink.com/

Re: Spray Painting Lego Bricks, Yes or No?

Dont do it, it causes them to not fit properly anymore.

Re: Spray Painting Lego Bricks, Yes or No?

Also, the paint may not be the same exact color of the Lego bricks, so it'll be noticeable next to an offical-colored Lego brick.

So, not a good idea.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Mmmmkay, I didn't think the paint would've effected the bricks so much mini/lol, I suppose I'll just have to buy 'em off Bricklink like usual. mini/sad
