Ooh, I'm back just in time for THAC 9! 
I too don't really care much about prizes, I just want to enter and hopefully win. (If I'm good enough) And into context about the prizes, are they confirmed to be shirts? Or whoever's running this (Hazzat I suppose) is still searching for a sponsor? But again, I don't really care about prizes.
I wish people on the internet didn't feel so entitled to free services all the time. There's a pretty consistent hostility and lack of gratitude when you're doing the best you can that makes running a website like this one not fun.
True. Seems as though when ever YouTube updates their site at all there is a massive backlash from a lot of people complaining and whining.
I do agree with Smeagol and the staffs decision to just have one THAC. It would definitely be a lot of work to make something like that happen and (If THAC 5 thought us anything) have a low turnout.
I agree. There wouldn't be any purpose of having two THACs. Too frantic. Having a THAC 9A and THAC 9B would be basically like having to do all a years worth of homework in just under 24 hours.
I get it! Doing one THAC is definitely best! I might not be able to enter this year but I don't need a contest to make videos, so I'm good with it?

Yeah. Plus I've got permission from my parents to stay up all night.
During THAC 8, my parents only let me stay up for a couple hours later than I normally would, and guess what? I didn't finish. So this year, I'm using the excuse of "Mom, brickfilming takes a very long time, you can't rush me". 
Hehe, yeah. But usually they won't understand it unless they try, which I don't think will ever happen. I begged for the whole day and I guess they had no other option.

I've never done THAC before, but I keep telling them about it. However, my folks aren't fans of the "brickfilming for 24 hours straight" concept. I keep tellin' them "it's not always 24 hours, sometimes it's like 16 hours if you get everything done". I dunno.
I made Cashman in about 18 hours. Cashman 2 though I ran into technical issues toward the end of 24 hours and didn't manage to complete on time.

You should've won. What was the 'technical issue' anyway?
Eh, it got to be kind of long and my not very good editing software was having trouble with all the big files.
My parents don't care how long I stay up, they just don't want me complaining that "I'm tired". I usually go to bed around 9 PM to 10 PM anyway, so i probably will have enough time.
I can usually fit a 4/5 hour sleep into the 24 hours, and I always finish a few hours before the deadline. As long as your computer is working fine, and you plan out how much time you need to spend on each part (scripting/set-building/editing etc), you should be fine.
It always helps to have a few possible ideas planned out in your head before the contest starts...

It's been a while, but I'm back (in part) to run THAC 9! There will be an official announcement concerning THAC in a few days, but in the meantime, be aware that we have settled on the 17th/18th as the official day.
I'm super excited, and I look forward to running the contest for you all.
