Palefaces: Battle for Dominance
A civilization founded on peace, exploring the galaxy for scientific and technological knowledge, and general curiosity; these are the people of the Fines Magnae Pacis, the Territories of Great Peace. But on a planet called Nemus, immigrants from an unknown land have seemingly appeared out of the vast reaches of space and inhabited a planet that was home to native peoples, a few generations behind the Pacians technologically. These new peoples are known only as Dolorums; they are more advanced, more organized, more mysterious, and potentially more dangerous than anything that Pacis has ever come upon. But how can a society formed on peace possibly mistrust and defeat a group of people that lie and deceive?
Colonel Blake Serenus, Major Todd Logus, and Captain John Avium are friends from way back. They come from the military side of Pacis; they are the ones who handle situations where peace is not possible. But having finally found a more advanced civilization, can they risk knowledge for security? Landing on the planet, they meet Richard Bellator, a native, and Sergeant Mark Valorosum, of the Forest Faction. Richard refers to the Dolorums as Palefaces--a slang, an insult, derived from their one difference to the natives, the Pacians, and indeed everyone else in the galaxy. Richard insists that the Dolorums are evil, and are lying to all the people of Pacis until they can attack the heart of Pacis, and do the most damage; the Dolorums deny all of this, and it's up to the Colonel, Major, Captain, Sergeant, and Richard to find out the truth, before their way of life is destroyed. It is truly a battle for dominance.
I'm finally releasing an update thread because I just finished the first draft of the script, and I'm finally going full-steam with this thing. I have two sequels planned as well, but let's deal with that later
This film will focus on expansive sets (mostly thanks to CGI), for the purpose of making the audience actually believe that they are on another planet, instead of in my closet. Quality in animation is one of my highest priorities as well, for this film will be rather long, and I don't want the audience to be distracted by poor animation ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOfW7Qi-E5o Comments and criticism on animation welcome and appreciated). Original soundtrack, composed and performed by me, as well as effects for all laser blasts and whatnot made entirely in GIMP, will hopefully give this film a feel of originality and creativity, and I can only hope will inspire people to not use explosion effects (c'mon guys, they look really tacky...)
Casting call will go up hopefully within a week, many big and small roles for anyone who wants to get in on this film.
Thoughts? Concerns? Suggestions? I'd love to hear what ya'll think of this! ![]()
