Topic: Unstable Camera

I want to begin making several of my brickfilms using the unstable camera effect. Can anyone please help me? I have a vague idea that you just move the camera for each frame, but I want to know if that's the correct and easiest way.
Thanks mini/smile

Here's a video ZachMG made for the ToY competition using the effect.

"How do you do those realistic and very well done camera movements? In post editing or moving the camera?

@KrAyZKlAy The movements were all done in-camera. Just takes a lot of patience and diligence."

Yeah, just move the camera in small increments, following all animation principles to make it look lifelike (like someone is holding the camera)

Re: Unstable Camera

If you have a webcam, read this:

They say it's harder to do a shaky/untsable camera effect with a webcam. But if you have the right rigs, it'll be easier. Build a cradle encasing your webcam. Make sure a plate is on the bottom, so you can attach rigs to it. The rigs are going to take up some space, so elavate your set. First, build a rig that allows your webcam to move side to side. Then, build a rig under the first rig that allows it to tilt up and down. By moving both rigs at the same time, you get a shaky camera effect.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

In Mindgame's Social Experiment, the shakey camera effect was done using Adobe After Effects' 'random wiggle' effect. It's an expensive programme, though.
