just convert it to a .jpg. open up gimp (or other) then don't do anything. just re-save as a .jpg. but the bad part is you have to delete the background if you want a transparent background. then just save the final emoticon as .png or .gif

it's the same problem i had earlier where the color would only stay the same colors the smiley was made of... i think.
