Glad you all liked it, folks! Seeing as there's been a little bump, I'll take this opportunity to leave some responses.
you did you cherry cut slowly, then slowed it down even more in after effects?
That's right. I'm still terrified of AE but I overcame my fears to try the PixelMotion effect, which fills in frames inbetween the existing frames to make a smoother shot. It's a bit hit-and-miss, but I think it came out pretty well.
How long did that take you to animate?
Two days. Then it sat around for a while until I could convince my brother to make some music for me.
