Topic: [CastingCall] The Bridge - pls help me out with a line or two. ♀s too!

Hi,

my upcoming medieval film "The Bridge" needs some voices. I'm grateful to everyone who gives it a go. The only requirement (besides a suitable voice) is a good microphone.

1. Knight (deep manly voice) - about 10 lines in total

Attributes: phlegmatic, experienced, confident, strong, manly, calm; doesn't hesitate to take action when needed

However, at the moment he is just a sentinel and a bit bored with his life and the routine. Is not bloodthirsty and avoids killing and wounding - however, he is not a coward and does what is necessary. On the one hand he tries to prevent duels from happening (even though he is used to winning them - he just does not enjoy spilling blood) but at the same time, he likes it when he can't avoid them because they provide a (rather) exciting break from his boring routine.

Test lines: "Then you won't pass.", "Ha! Those are just big words. Let's see.", "Enough for you, kid?"


2. Young upper-class woman (female voice) - ONLY ONE LINE!

Attributes: hot

Line: "Wow. He's so brave." (in awe, attracted)


3. Middle-class mother growing older (greying hair, from the countryside) - ONLY 1 LINE!

Attributes: loves her child

Line: "Maurice!" (Yes?) "Dinner is ready!"


4. Maurice, a young boy of about 12 (voice should match age) - ONLY 1 LINE! - TAKEN BY EAGLEANIMATIONS

Attributes: of good nature, obeys his parents (and respects them); is to grow into a fierce, fearless, but also somtimes quick-tempered confident and good-looking young man. Loves spending the day outside to either just hang out in the heart of pure nature and be alone with his thoughts or to "explore" the region.

Line: (Maurice!) "Yes?" (Dinner is ready!) "Yes mother, I'm coming!" (mother leans out of the window and shouts for him to come, please adjust your voice to match the situation.)

Unfortunately, I'm rather busy with recording stuff for one of my own films, and for another's. Kind of backed up right now. mini/confused I thought I might have done well on the knight. but it's not going to work if you need them soon.

Well, time isn't THAT much of a matter. A test line would really be appreciated if you find the time to do it. mini/smile

I was just suggesting, since film is a visual medium, it's better to convey things without words if possible. So, when the woman says that the knight is brave, I thought it would be a bit cheesy. The only example I can think of is not possible with legos, which is that she winks at him or something. So I would try to come up with something a bit more subtle.
Even though we of course are not paying people to voice in our brickfilms, in Hollywood films, each speaking role is more expensive, so it both lowers the cost and make it more cinematic and realistic. So I would suggest conveying something through body language, or not.

I got the mail, but there's just a file path from your computer and no attachment? Probably it will work better if you send it to me via your regular e-mail client rather than through BiM.

I still didn't get any at all except Eagle Animations'. Don't know what's going wrong, my e-mail is in the spoiler!

EDIT: Wait, I did get yours now. It's just that hotmail put it in the junk-folder and I didn't expect it to be there so I didn't notice... etc. Thanks a bunch for your try.

At the moment it's most likely that Eagle will get the part of Maurice!

I will consider doing Maurice... Although I'm 11 not 12. But theres not much of a difference.
