Lightsaber Test

YouTube

My very first attempts at lightsaber effects. Hopefully I'll manage to get good at this.

Re: Lightsaber Test

This belongs in the "WIPs and Tests" section. See YouTube for my comment.

For future reference, this should be in the Tests and WIPs thread.

Got it, thanks!

Re: Lightsaber Test

Looks pretty good!
In general, I try to keep the effect slightly larger that the physical prop.
Here is one of my lightsaber tests as an example.

Re: Lightsaber Test

Good, but As ZP said the blade/core needs to a bit bigger than the actual prop. I also think that there needs to be more glow! mini/smile

Re: Lightsaber Test

I disagree, make the core(white bit) thinner(very slightly) and replace it with/add more glow.

Re: Lightsaber Test

Ideally, that's how a lightsaber should look as from the films. But those are to scale with real people. This lightsaber in this is to scale with Lego minifigures. I shouldn't of said bigger than the prop, it should be the same size.

Re: Lightsaber Test

I tried it again with some of your suggestions. And, yes, I am aware of how the blue blade looks. mini/smile

Nope

Re: Lightsaber Test

do you have a lego lightsaber stick? I think the core should be no bigger than that

EDIT: it looks very good.

Exactly. It should be the same size so you can't see the prop.

And Lego838 that looks very good.
