I wholeheartedly agree.

Re: Sports Thread

Canucks take on the Bruins tonight after Vancouver beat Boston 1-0 last game to win game 1 of the Stanley cup finals.

I have to say though, there are some pretty crazy Canuck fans here in Vancouver.  It may be slight insanity throughout the night if they win the cup.

Re: Sports Thread

AAHHHHH YEAAAHHHH!!!!! Game 7. I'm taking Boston in this one. Though Vancouver has been perfect at home thus far, this series is strangely similar to the Red Wings and Pens a couple years back. I also feel that Thomas has proved to be the better goaltender thus far. Still, with this said, I'm rootin' fro Vanny! mini/cat

Also, how about Dallas eh'? I'm really happy for Dirk and Jason, they really earned it. But I do not have a doubt that the Heat will be back. It's almost impossible to have that much talent and not perform well year in and year out. Well, I guess the Cowboys aren't a good example of that...

Yeah!

Anyways, we'll see how the game goes.  My guess is that it will be a close game but since they've never won the cup before, I'm hoping Vancouver can pull through.

For the most part, I don't really like sports. Not exactly my cup of tea.
Though, I think fencing is awesome. mini/smile
It's like, clashing and swinging swords around! HOW EPIC IS THAT!?!?!? xD
I used to fence a while ago, won a mini tournament once, don't really do it anymore. Anyone else like fencing? mini/smile

I also enjoy watching various Olympic sports when they're on.
Besides all that, I'm not really very sporting. xD

I use to fence around 10 years ago.  It was fun while I did it.

Re: Sports Thread

*Sniff*  They lost. mini/sad

Oh well, I'm not devastated, not as much as most people here anyway.  I'm not a HUGE sports fanatic so it's not the end of the world for me.

More than 100,000 people are rioting in downtown Vancouver right now.  Most of the drunk people are stumbling out of bars and (get this), cars are literally being SET ON FIRE.  It's complete madness in the city right now.  Wouldn't be surprised if people got hurt.

EDIT:  Police are now letting out tear gas, cars are exploding, windows are being smashed.  Some people even broke into a bank and trashed it.  Bottles and other debris are being thrown at police, people are being beaten, arrested.  Newspaper boxes are being thrown.

Most dangerous (and chaotic) place in the world right now?  Downtown Vancouver.

All this because of a hockey game.  mini/confused

Ah, revenge. Take that Chanucks! Anyways, they both played well and I hope for better next season for the BlackHawks. mini/smile

Some people are fighting wars at the moment. That's a horrible exaggeration.

Well, yeah, I kind of exagerrated.  It was still pretty crazy there though.

No, Chicago is a great team too.  It's just that Vancouver has never won a Stanley Cup before and it'd be nice to see them win.

Fencing is epic. I fence with lightsabers in my back yard. EPIC NERD OUT!

I think you should play a game called "Know Hyperbole When You See It" I think Milton Bradley still sells copies of it.

Who?

Hyperboles are nice and all but there are certain ones you can't use, that would be one of them.

(Not that I don't think what happened there was insane and stupid.) Sports, that's the very reason I dislike them.
