Topic: Improv films?
This may not be the right place for this, I apologize if it is not.
We all know what improv is, I assume I do not need to write a definition. I recently learned that some plays are actually improvised as well- there are minimal rehearsals, none of the actors memorize the script, few props, and no set or lighting. Some critics say this form of theater can be more entertaining or emotional than a normal play as the human element is more apparent.
This got me wondering: what about films?
The film would be guerrilla filmed, with no storyboards or prepared dialogue. The script would be very vague, such as "In this scene to gangsters discuss the plans for the bank job" and what the actors make up would become the story. Basicly you'd go into an environment with nothing but a few props and an idea of how the scene should go.
Everything related to filming, such as special effects and camera angles, would be done on the spot. This would mean you'd need a few cameramen, all shooting the scene at the same time, watching each other so the know when they can disregard the actors and find a new spot. I'm not sure how special effects would would work, but I'm sure someone creative could think of something.
Has this ever been done? If so could someone provide links?
