Topic: Lamps

Hey,

I am thinking of buying some/a lamp.
I looked in some shops in the local area, but I am still confused. Which good lamp will go with a good bulb?
Preferably a lamp under 20 pounds (32 dollars).

Any help?

Re: Lamps

I personally recommend LED lamps. The two I got were about $15-20 each and were totally worth it.

LittleBrick I was thinking this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Desk-Ligh … amp;sr=8-1

A little on the expensive side, but totally worth it?

Re: Lamps

LED lamps are good, but I actually say to go with halogen lamps, they are brighter then typical bulb, but not as bright as the LED's. LED's tend to cause major highlights, at least from my experience, and the halogens last A LOT longer.

Re: Lamps

Daylight lamps are amazing. They are expensive new, but recently I got a pair down a boot fair, came to about a fiver for the two. Now I use them, I've started to think how I ever managed without them. They give a little flicker, but being as they don't get very hot you can put paper round them. The fact that their white is also a positive, and they give out so much light. They work really well for me.

Re: Lamps

I read some reviews on led lamps, and they seem to be the best for me

Well yes, they are. I have one lamp that it halogen, and from my experience they can cause all kinds of problems. Like a massive ball of light reflecting off of bricks or greenscreens.

I went and bought the item I linked above, thought that was the best for me.

Thanks for the help though!

Re: Lamps

I have two $10 desk lamps with 60 watt light bulbs and 15 watt light bulbs if I need to reduce the light, I also just got a Led light. Go to my flicker for pictures. mini/smile

Re: Lamps

I think that normal desk lamps will do. That's what I use and it works for me.

Re: Lamps

I would definitely recommend LED lamps.  You might have to pay a premium price but LEDs provides much more even lighting and the lamp itself stays cool.

Re: Lamps

I've always prefered halogen for basic shots, and if ever needed a night-time atmosphere I switch to floroscent with LEDs. I believe those are your best bet as they are extremely efficient and both give quite bright light.

On a side note, what a pleasant surprise^

Re: Lamps

I like the ikea lamps. They have nice bright light and are energy efficient as well.
