Hi,
I know there's a thread exactly like this below,
but I'm wondering would this HD Camcorder be
better than a LQCP 9000.

I'm afraid about the focus though.
Will it get blurry half way through the shot?
Only if it only has an autofocus setting. I don't have time to check that link right now but if it has manual focus you should be good.
The facts are that a webcam will never be as good as a digital camera or HD camcorder for picture quality. The lens is much better than any webcam. The problem is that you cannot usually get live view from any of these devices, so it is difficult to use your software features such as onionskinning, reviewing your animation whilst you are animating etc. etc. Often you have to film blind like they used to do in the old days. The HDMI output may only be for playback after you have filmed, not live streaming, and if it does live stream video it may be at a lower resolution and may have screen icons on your image. They also tend to power down all the time which is a pain. Check this otherwise you will be wasting your money.
You must check that you can stream live video in real time from this device either through the usb or firewire. If you cannot, its not very useful for animating and you are best sticking with the QC9000, the best webcam on the market at the moment. If you are determined to get even better quality than the QC9000 can provide, buy a Digital SLR as this will give much better stills than any camcorder and will have all manual settings.
In summary if you only have £150 don't bother, buy a QC9000.

By the way, it takes JPG Images and it doesn't say if it has manual or auto focus.
Would it be worth using both.
I all ready have the QC9000, but I'm tempted in buying a HD Camcorder.
