Re: I need A good Video Editor.

I suppose you mean Pinnacle VideoSpin. I have to say I am using it, and I'm pretty content with it. It's a pretty solid program for compositing and stuff, it's not that complex and it can handle pretty good quality. The codecs are optional, and you won't have to buy them. As for me, I wouldn't need them anyway - the things of the free version are enough for me.

As for particular video editing, I'd propose VirtualDub which has pretty many features.

Re: I need A good Video Editor.

The FSF contains many examples of fairly decent free software.

Virtual Dub seems to be a popular choice, and jahshaka looks interesting (although I have not personally tried it).

I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE WMM.  I usually just get the 1-month free trials of good software.

Re: I need A good Video Editor.

Windows Movie Maker is the best thing out there because it's great! The easiest way to edit and assemble clips, images and audio. I made every one of my films with it, and my films are pretty well edited! mini/tongue

Re: I need A good Video Editor.

I could never figure out audio in VirtualDub.

After trying out every single software on the list (and then some) I too have come to the point that WMM is best suited for my purposes. It is simple, and the only downside is that it doesn't have multiple audio layers and that it crashes. But if you want to do special effects, I usually op for a combination of GIMP and Wax 2.0. Both these (also free) programs, have a steep learning curve, but once you actually learn the stuff, it's pretty easy to integrate it together. Of course the combination of these 3 programs are inferior to programs you pay for, but using these three programs (in my experience) work well.
