Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Transformers 2
Mainly it was explosions and screaming. Meh.

S.W.A.T.
Just terrible. One of the worst movies ever. 1/5.
Tombstone
Saw it for the fourth time. I just love this movie. I wish they would make more of these. 5/5.
Surrogates
The story was a bit confusing in the beginning of the movie, but overall it was okay. 3/5.
Bad Boys II
I loved the intro, though I liked the first movie better. But this was a good laugh too. 3/5.
I wish you would tell us how you really feel.

The Illusionist
Second time seeing it. Fantastic story. Great music by Phillip Glass too, his music fit the movie so well. I also loved the subtle things they did in editing to make it look like film. Good to see this movie again.
4/5
Forrest Gump
Unbelievable. This film has changed the way I see life. It has simple characters, but takes them through some of the greatest moments in history. The cinematography was amazing, the sets were incredible, and the story was one of the best I have ever seen.
5 stars all the way.
So I married an axe murderer
4/5
A need to see for everyone out there, had its funny and scary moments. Mike Meyers played the part nicely and it was a god entertaining movie.

same with me when I saw it..."life is like a box of chocolate"
No, life is like a box of bad metaphors.
I just watched Men in Black for the first time, and was disappointed. For some reason that seems to be my reaction to most movies these days - just sort of disappointed.
Who else is going to go see 2012 in theaters simply to see the earth be destroyed in gigantic, cheesy, CGI glory?

Me!
Haha.

I think I've already done that this year.
Me too

You won't believe me, but...
Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith
Me and my brother made great jokes about it. Like at the end
when you first see Darth Vader, we were like "You went a bit over the top with the tinting of the eyes, 'cause I can't see a thing at night time!
and also there was...
"I can destroy you, Vader!"
"How will you do that?!"
"LIGHTS OUT!"
Infurno, have you seen Les Quatres Cents Coups? I like it a lot better than A Bout de Souffle actually.
No, not yet. I bought a whole box of Godard, so I'm watching Godard's films first. After them, I'll move over to Truffaut ![]()
2012
Just watched it.
Some directors suspend belief on a thin string that they carefully protect throughout the film, trying with all their might to get the people watching the story to buy into the reality of what's happening. Emmerich grabs the string, swings the ball around as hard as he can, and hurls it as far away as possible. Who needs reality when you can have excitement?
And he succeeds. Amazing, gorgeous, obese amounts of excitement. Balls of fire. Tidal waves. Earthquakes. If you're a CGI artist, the film is one big beautiful effects reel. Particles fly, simulations crack canyons out of the ground, and fluid systems dump unheard of amounts of water through digital Himalayas. It's phenomenal. You really need a staggering amount of imagination to come up with something bigger than this.
Two thumbs up for delivering what he promised: destruction galore. Thank you, Roland, I don't believe I'll ever be tempted to watch another disaster flick again. In fact, I'm so completely exhausted from the film, I think I'm gonna sleep for a few years. Or at least until 2012.

Well, the CGI part of that sounds a bit cool, and so does the mass destruction, but that gets boring after about 5 minutes. And they're also playing off of other people's fears that the world will end in 2012 (which is a LIE by the way) just to get people to watch it.
Good thing I decided not to see it. I'm not wasting the money to go to the movie on it.

Ehm, is that a reply to my post?
Blues Brothers
I saw it for the third time. Great movie. 5/5.
Drag me to Hell
That movie was so hilarious! At the talking goat part, I nearly died of laughter. The surprise ending was a hoot as well. Watch it for a good laugh.
