Topic: Video Camcorders

Well my mom has a ton of credit card points so she asked me if I would want a video camcorder from her catalog of point items.

Here are the two options:

OR

Which is better?

Seeing as you have some money to spend
FancyPants Uses it
OR
LegoShark Uses it but its a bit more pricey

Re: Video Camcorders

He doesn't have money to spend. He's got credit card reward points, which allow you to pick items from a limited catalog. The two camcorders he linked to are probably the only ones in there.

I don't really like either one of those. I'm a huge Sony fan, but that particular model looks like junk, especially for brickfilming... just about every review mentions light problems and absurdly crappy photos. The specs on the Panasonic are no better. And if you're looking to use it as a camcorder as well, recording on an internal hard drive is just asking for trouble.

Honestly, I wouldn't get either one, at least not to keep. Get something else out of the catalog, sell it on Ebay, and get a good camera with the money.

Re: Video Camcorders

Its not for brickfilming, but for live action. I already have a Logitech Quickam 9000 for bfilming.

Re: Video Camcorders

dude, buy the hanycam, I use it sometimes, it's a good live action cam. mini/bigsmile

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

Re: Video Camcorders

I guess go with the Sony then. I own a lot of Sony equipment and it hasn't given me any trouble. But I still don't like the look of that particular model... recording on an internal hard drive is a disaster waiting to happen, because if it goes you have to get a whole new camera. But hey, if it's free, no big loss.
