There's no such thing as a USB/1394 adapter, as far as I know, since the two transfer data at completely different speeds. I assuming you're wanting to plug a FireWire cable into a USB port?
1394 ports look like this:
Thats a USB-A. Theres also USB-B, USB Mini-A/B, and USB Micro-A/B.
