Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Prototype is basically a crappy version of Spiderman 2. Same engine, set up, game mechanics... just different models and gorier.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

SpiderMan was fun because I spent 30 minutes getting to the top of the tallest building, only to jump off while doing as many tricks as possible before I died

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

I just bought Battlefield: Bad Company for Xbox 360 with my Birthday money. Awesome game. Anybody else play it?

Persist.

I haven't gotten around to playing it on line yet, but I do have it. Sprinkles02

I want to get X-Box live, but the price of a wireless adapter seems a bit steep.

can't we all agree that some people like M games, and some people don't.

I don't think anyone is denying that, although I am saying that games that are gory and bloody don't turn people into devils, the worst I've ever seen it go is people making gunfire noises and playing toy gun games for fun - which I'll add is just as normal as people playing with water guns, playing toy gun games isn't bad at all.

Thank you, Aaron. I'm 15, FYI, T.G-Tom mini/rolleyes . Yes, it is a parental thing, and I respect the limits they give me.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

When I was about 15 (I'm 16 now), my parents decided to let me make some choices on my own. Which meant that if a game had a bit of blood yet wasn't a gorefest I would be allowed to play it. Once you hit a certain age, it doesn't really matter too much what the pixels are colored. And, get this, I am homeschooled! Bet you didn't see that one coming! It seems that when your parents finally let you make some decisions on your own, it's as if they actually trust you. You see, if your parents are always there to baby you, you will grow to resent that, and once you are out in the real world what's to keep you from doing what your parents tell you is wrong? I choose not to play gory bloodfest games because I don't want to, not because my parents tell me I can't. Although, yes, it is good to respect them and their decisions, there just comes a time when you may want to consider asking them to trust you more.

How about a reprieve from this lengthy debate?

For example, this is the one thousandth reply to this thread, and if I'm right, the first post on page 51.

New character announced for Birth by Sleep.

Which lead to a lot of !@#$%^&* and complaining over romanizing the name incorrectly.

Seriously, what's wrong with Erauqs? It's Square backwards, just like Yen Sid. It sounds just fine to me but apparently some fanboy gets tongue-tied and he has to whine about it.

I DO make many of my own choices, and they definitely don't baby me. But in many matters, they still know best(they are 25 years older). My parents trust me to a great degree, this isn't about trust, it's about what is best for me. And, like you, I also don't chose to play gorefest/extreme blood games, even if my parents would let me.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Meh, I'm 14 and I play some M games. I've rented GTA IV and recently bought Halo 3. Its fun shooting dead Covenant bodies to watch more blood fly. Its also fun to melee your little brother with a Spiker when he's not staying with the squad.

Honestly, what's a shooting game without blood? Oh yeah... COD2...

You make it seem like home-schooling is a bad thing. Anyway, I don't see how being home-schooled is relevant to how violent of a video game you play.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Well, most people think that homeschoolers arn't aloud to play M rated games.

I'm homescooled and I think a shooter is good with a realistic amount of blood, just not a gorefest.

Don't be fooled, my avatar is a facade of conformity.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Something that always gets to me is the generalized argument that games influence people into doing bad things. I've been playing the GTA games since the first part came out in 1997, and I don't have messed up morals. I mean I'm a messed up dude but my morals are ok as far as murdering goes.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

No but I've heard the argument a lot in other discussions and just thought I'd throw that in before anyone else is going to say the contrary.
