Pixar=Fail proof.
I mean. What other company could make a film about an old guy travelling in a house lifted by balloons and make it good fantastic?
Moulin Rouge
Woah, what the hell was that? I couldn't take the editing of this film, to me it seemed like they edited the film separately part-by-part with one style of editing in mind, and then when they strung it all together they realized they created a monster. But idk, it was good story, even though it feels like I've heard stuff like this a million times before in other romance films. I think the beginning of the film was probably the most awesome part of the movie, it really was amazing. But after that, everything just went by too fast. The way they put in modern songs in with a 1900 based film kind of bothered me, though sometimes it did fit. It also seemed to me that they took all the bad takes and put it in the movie, I expected Ewan Mcgregor to do way better than that. Overall it was a meh movie. I could see this doing extremely well as animated feature, though it would have probably taken a thousand years animate. ![]()
2.5/5 FILMYGUY POINTS
From Dusk Till Dawn
That was awesome ! I really liked it, Tarantino is a genious, and so is Rodriguez.
South Park - Bigger, Longer, and uncut
Yeah, just like a normeal Suth Park episode, just longer, and with more swearing and musical numbers...
Crank: High Voltage
WOW! This film just struck me like an electric heart attack (hehe...)
Haha, both Crank and its sequel are about the wackiest films I've seen. The best thing is that both of these films doesn't take itself serious while keeping a straight face. I laughed at the sex in public] scene in the first film; I laughed to tears at the similar scene in the sequel. It was great.
From Dusk Till Dawn
That was awesome ! I really liked it, Tarantino is a genious, and so is Rodriguez.
Hmm. The first time I saw From Dusk Till Dawn I didn't like it very much. It was obvious that Tarantino did all the screen writing on the first part, and the moment the girls turn into vampires] I was just like "meh" because it was obvious that Rodriguez took over there. I guess it's just because I'm a Tarantino fanboy, but I would've preferred to see the first half of the story worked out a bit better; after seeing the film a second time I got to appreciate Rodriguez's part a lot more; I actually laughed at the stereotypes in there. Especially the war veteran]. I mean that moment had me laugh hard.
So on to some I saw recently.
Inglourious !@#$%^&*
This was a pretty great film from start to finish. Especially the first part managed to pull off the "World War 2 era Western" combination so well, and it was mostly this combination (and Tarantino's involvement, of course) that had me interested in the film. Unfortunately the rest of the film wasn't particularly Westernish. It still had a pretty great plot, though. It was a good film. And the ending was very pleasing overall although pretty much everyone did die]... but that's Tarantino.
Get Shorty
Be Cool
I enjoy these two so much. This was the third time I've seen both, and they never get old. Although I do have to say that Be Cool is wackier than Get Shorty (and this obviously means Get Shorty is much better from a snob point of view). Both have pretty complicated plots that in the end always work out in John Travolta's benefit and that's great. Yes, these are two of the most enjoyable films I've ever seen.
An Education
Good, but not fantastic. The ending came off as a bit too abrupt and easy, which sort of cut the rest of the film off at the knees, IMO. Carey Mulligan was great, though. If anything, see it for her.
Young Guns
Not much of a story, but I did enjoy it though.
Brüno
disgustingly funny, this movie has some really hilarius parts, especially with the judging of Brüno's TV show, and of course the ending!
But it wasn't as good as Borat of course.
Liked Borat ? you'll like this to
The Dark Knight
I finally got it on DVD, the puzzles just fit together for me now perfectly, great serious film... yes. Great batman tribute, not unbelievable, although if you have read some batman comics. You'll recitnise some stuff that happens in the comics, mostly seemd "The Long Halloween, Dark Victory and Year One.
4/5

Anybody who watches an Uwe Boll movie with less-than-horrible expectations loses my respect.
The Holy Mountain
I saw this at a midnight showing. It was strangely mystical and intellectual, and certainly the most bizarre film I've seen. Seriously, if anybody ever describes 2001 as weird or hard to understand, I will kick them out of the room. ![]()
