Topic: Light Flicker Problem

Help! It's not the camera's exposure this time, it's the lights themselves! The lights I'm using are flickering. What do you guys suggest?

Re: Light Flicker Problem

I have the same problem
I moved my desk into the deepest corner of room
I haven't tried it out yet but I will tonight

Re: Light Flicker Problem

Well, at my house, when someone turns a light on, sometimes other lights dim a little, but just for a bit. That could be it.

Re: Light Flicker Problem

Yes, AncientBricks had a thread about different house appliances going on and off changing the light power. Do you put white paper over your lights? Do you wait a few seconds after moving the minifig to make sure the camera regulates itself? All of these, if not followed, could cause light flicker.

Re: Light Flicker Problem

How may Watts are the Lights each? Any less then 60 Watt each and you will get light flicker.

Re: Light Flicker Problem

Are you sure its the lights?  Try seeing if a flashlight causes flickers.

Halogen lights are less flickery than incandescent lights, maybe try one of those.  But if its the power usage in your home, maybe try a battery powered light, but instead of a battery, you can get a regulated power supply and connect the wires to the batter terminals.  Those maintain a constant voltage even with minor fluctuations in your home.

Re: Light Flicker Problem

yes i have experienced the house appliance makes your lights flicker problem (i think i stated that the last time you had flickers filmyguy)
i dont know what to tell you... just go through the checklist one more time:

-dark clothes
-paper diffusers
-no natural light
-camera settings
-no light on behind your back
-no overhead light other than the lamps
-computer screen away from set
- black ski mask?!
-nothing between your lights and set that will be moving
-the right set up of lights
-more than one lamp
-no hallucinations
-the most likely cause is that you have a party going on in your room. if that is the case (which i am 99% sure it is) turn off the strobe light!!

i dunno filmyguy mini/blankexpression

Re: Light Flicker Problem

I did also have problems with this because I did have low energy lamps.
Now I switched them to 40w and voala, no light flicker!
Make sure that other things can change the light, just look at FLIPaBRIK's list. mini/tongue

Re: Light Flicker Problem

Well, the Filament may be cracked, but not completely broken. This happened to me before. The light bulb may have just overheated, causing the filament to crack. The light may still seem fine to you, but, I found out it does flicker each time it goes around the filament. But, thats at the speed of light, so we cant see it. Try exchanging your light bulbs. mini/wink

Persist.
