If it's too "frightening", would it be disqualified?

Re: AniExer-size Animation Contest II - Halloween Edition [CLOSED]

I'm not sure if my film is for the contest. Would a film with zombies in be
suitable for family audiences.

As long as their heads don't explode with huge amounts of realistic-looking blood, I think you're in the clear.

When I saw that, I remember occasionally peering around the room. I'm a bit childish. mini/smile

Re: AniExer-size Animation Contest II - Halloween Edition [CLOSED]

The increase in amount of voucher mouney in the second prize annoys me, I'd of got an extra 50% had the prizes been like this the first time round.

Despite this, the theme is awesome, good choice

Yeah I know. I dunno how a lego figure getting stabbed is really scary.
Well thats six year olds for ya.

EDIT: I wish Nosniborus would be online more on bricksinmotion.

Re: AniExer-size Animation Contest II - Halloween Edition [CLOSED]

Would it be OK if I used a story I heard before? I don't remember if it was made up by a friend or a short story I read. I also only remember the basic theme of it, so it won't be totally copied, just similar.

I'd note that the main reason for these restrictions is that the contest sponsor wanted them.  So we're asking people to try to stay within reason in making entries family-friendly, but can't be sure precisely where the sponsor draws the line.  My understanding is he didn't have an issue with fancypants' "The Game" winning last time.

Wow... A brickfilmer without a youtube account? Never thought I would see that. (no offense) mini/wink

I do not care about your opinion, unless it has to do with it needing more ponies.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. Think about it; gore isn't scary. Sure, it's gross, and it makes you uneasy, which I guess could add to a spooky atmosphere, but if you had a movie that was just gore, without any story, atmosphere, or anything, I doubt it would be very scary. Be creative; don't use gore as a crutch.
