Re: Windows Movie Maker

Sooo... what do you expect us to do?

Maybe try doing it without so many programs/applications running, to make it faster...

Re: Windows Movie Maker

i tried that

Re: Windows Movie Maker

So if you dont want another program... and we cant give you much advice... other than uninstall it and the simple things... what do you want me to say? Well Done?

And what programs have you actually tried?

Re: Windows Movie Maker

I had this problem - I think it's because your hard drive is too full. Either delete lots of stuff, or buy an editing software that's actually any good.

...or buy a bigger hard drive and RAM.

Re: Windows Movie Maker

You should buy an editing software like Sony Vegas. It hardly freezes and has great saving quality.

Re: Windows Movie Maker

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH WMM. IF TOUCHED PREPARE FOR EXTREME MELT-DOWN. COMMENCING IN 5,4,3,2,1 BOOM!
Try monkey jam and  Sony Vegas. Sony Vegas cost money but is worth the buy. mini/delirium

Re: Windows Movie Maker

I've had issues with WMM crashing/freezing as well and found that if I turned down my hardware acceleration (Windows XP) under Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot

Move the slider for Hardware acceleration down to 1 or 2 notches above None and that seemed to greatly reduce the number of crashes.  Not ideal but it worked for me to finish a movie under time pressure.  I'm guessing my hardware is just too old to handle the large number of images and movie files that I was dealing with.

Try that.

Re: Windows Movie Maker

thanks, I'll try

Re: Windows Movie Maker

how do you get to display properties in WMM?

Re: Windows Movie Maker

Try VirtualDub. Or maybe VideoMach. I honestly don't really care for either (I'm not sure I remember what they even do) as I own Sony Vegas.

But please, do not use WMM. Ever.

BEH KWIUT FIB.

Some of us can't get any other software. Unlike all you people, "Prancin' around with yer head full o' eyeballs!

Re: Windows Movie Maker

Well Virtual Dub is free, Brickyman, and IF you're so poor, why do you still have internet connection? mini/confused

Re: Windows Movie Maker

Well, he probably has it because he values the internet and all the stuff he can do on it. Animating doesn't COMPLETELY take over your life, you know. But yes, he could use Virtual Dub.

Becuase a home internet connection has pretty much become a necessity nowadays, an editing software isn't needed. It's like asking "why don't you have your own car? if you're so poor, why do you still have a house?"

Why does everyone say WMM is so terrible?

See? My point is proved.

And I don't like WWM becuase I do lots of effects-driven animations, and it's just not up to scratch for what I do, becuase it only has very basic functions and can only zoom to twelve increments a second.

Re: Windows Movie Maker

The display properties are in Windows itself (right click on Desktop or go into the Control Panel), not in Movie Maker.  Be sure to change them back when you are done with Movie Maker.
