What about any of these?:
512MB nVidia GeForce 8400GS PCI Express.
512MB nVidia GeForce 9400GT PCI Express.
1GB nVidia GeForce 9500GT PCI Express.
1GB nVidia GeForce 9600GT PCI Express.
1GB nVidia GeForce 9800GT PCI Express.
Would any of these be good for Intense Effects?
Thanks.-Capedkid
Yeah, it's an upgrade called a new graphics card.
But I have a laptop, can you buy graphics cards for laptops?

I want this thread to end just as bad as anyone Else.

That depends, some laptops use graphics cards that can be switched out, others have them built into the motherboard. I think for inbuilt cards you can upgrade by putting the card through the PCI slot, but I'm not sure. I know it's supposed to be a hassle, anyway.
Well, I don't really understand what a graphics card is, but I think you can do very well with the stuff I use:
Blender
VirtualDub
Axogon Composer
Gimp
Mpeg Streamclip (For Rendering in HQ)
Well, it all depends on the kind of effects you want to use. "Insane/intense/hardcore isn't really clear. Do you want to create HD Explosions at HD or 2K format? I strongly recommend NVIDIA Quadro FX but since the cheapest I could find was 2000 dollar, skip that. The new GeForce 200/300 serie are great cards at an affordable price (lowest = $300). I myself have been puzzling with cards since the beginning of time and I now have a 9800GT. It pretty much runs everything I want to do.
But first, what kind of FX do you want to do?

You didn't answer my question. I'm trying to figure out what video card would be best for your needs, but by quoting yourself i'm net getting an answer.
-Don
Well kind of Effects that someone like Leonardo would make.
Ah, now there's something usefull. You'd need a Quad Core, 3GB RAM (32bit) or 4GB RAM (64bit), and a video card. For the kind of things you want to do, I think you'd be okay with an NVIDIA Geforce 9800GTX.
-Don
Thank You finally a good awnser!
Btw:32bit Can actually handle 4GB DDR2 RAM.
EDIT: Do you mean 1GB nVidia GeForce 9800GT PCI Express?
Because I can only get the ones I listed.

Yeah, it can handle 4GB, but it only uses 3.25GB. If you can't get the GTX, get the 9800GT.
-Don
Is the 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTS250 PCI EXPRESS Better 'cos I looked on nVidia.com and compared them and it said that it was but I wasn't sure so I asked the Master. (You.)
The GTS250 = 9800GTX.
