Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Bande Á Part

This is my first Goddard. I enjoyed it but for some reason the atmosphere felt rather grim when it wasn't grim. I guess when it portrayed normal life near the start it managed to come over overly grim. I found the breaking of the 4th wall funny and I loved the dancing and the Lourve scene.

The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer
This film is one of the best political satires made and I am extremely surprised it's as unknown as it is. It was written by Peter Cook, John Cleese and Graham Chapman... all huge names in comedy. It stars many great faces from British cinema from the 60's and 70's. It's a great satire on spin and it noticeably foreshadows the rise of Tony Blair. If you get a chance to see this you should. It really shouldn't be as unknown as it is though.

Whisky Galore!
A nice quaint funny film what I like most about it is the way it showed the differences between the Scots and the English. I saw this when I was younger and I liked it more then than now not to say it's bad I do like it.

His Girl Friday
A very funny dark comedy where the characters talk so fast it almost breaks your ears. The film seems to have two different moods. It starts off as a romantic comedy making you expect the two husbands fighting over the wife but then as soon as you see the scene with the murderer in the cage the film doesn't derail but just switches track. It turns far more darker and takes a while for the humour to catch up but still it's a nice funny film.

Regarding the spoiler, I also felt I needed an answer after seeing that.  Apparently the guy is a more important character in the book that the movie is loosely based on, so it came from that (he's some rich executive who makes people do whatever he wants in order to get in his good graces) and they used it in the movie just as sort of disorienting, strange scene that that adds to the chaos.

In the book there is a quite disturbing segment about this. Disturbing so I wouldn't talk about it here.

Wow,considering it's thirty years old now,Alien is still amazing. The alien itself is amazing, and the chestburster sock-puppet is awsesome!

The Passion of Joan of Arc

Falconetti is the most mesmerizing actress I've seen; if you aren't at least impressed by this film, you have no soul.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

i, Robot
I liked it more than most people. Ok, so it's not really a change-your-life overnight movie, but it was fun to watch. Kind of a less-dark, less-intelligent, more-fun version of Minority Report. With Will Smith instead of Tom Cruise and robots instead of freaky, screaming people in swiming pools who tell the future. That being said, I still like Minority Report better.

I Am Legend
Another Will Smith movie. It was cool, a little bit dark. The zombies were disappointing, but I still liked it. Worth watching. I saw it at night, which was definitely the best time. The flashack scenes are my favorite as we see New York being quarantined.

The Pursuit of Happyness
Yet another Will Smith movie. It seemed a bit... empty. I don't know why. Maybe I'm just insensitive and heartless, but it never really grabbed me. Some scenes worked, others didn't.

Norma Rae

Good movie, Sally Field was great.

Brokeback Mountain

Say what you will about it, this is a fantastic and moving film. Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal were perfect, and Ang Lee's direction was brilliant.

This movie is truly a masterpiece. Amazing cinematography. IMO this is one of the best movies ever made.

I really want to see it too, but it really irks me that Tim Burton's name is attached to it because just like Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, people don't seem to get that he can only take very little credit for the film. Ask people who directed 9 and a disturbing amount will probably credit Burton even though it was actually written and directed by Shane Acker.

And what the hell was the meaning of the guy in the bear costume sucking this geezer's !@#$ 0_O

the acting of course was amazing. Jack, olive ( mini/wink ) and Danny. I think I'm gonna theorize this movie for years.
This is by far my favoriet Kubrick film.

I give it 5 twins out of 5.

I saw that movie at 23.00 when I was alone at home. My dad and brother were away and I had nothing better to do so I thought why not watch a movie? This was the worst decision I ever made. I had to stop in the middle of the movie because I was too scared. I saw the end the morning after. And it was still scary mini/tongue .

Aliens In The Attic

I really didn't want to see it, but my friend wanted to, but whatever mini/tongue
It was ok, well, no, it wasn't ok. The acting was bad, the script felt....too fast paced. There was just a lot left out it felt like. The plot was unoriginal, and it just wasn't good. The effects were good though, I'll give it that mini/lol

Well, it's one of those films which you don't need to see because of the title.

There are aliens, and they're in an attic. The end.

And casting Ashley Tisdale is just the cherry on the diarrhea sundae. It's inviting to say the least, but once you taste it, you know it's bad.
