Considering that it's written and directed by a guy from South Africa/British Columbia, Produced by a guy from New Zealand, the effects were done by companies from BC And NZ and was filmed in and starred people from South Africa. I think the only thing Hollywood had to do with this was... nothing, since the company that owns the company that owns the company that supplied the cash, is Sony, which is Japanese.
District 9
WOW. I am astounded. usually movies with this kinda hype don't turn out too well, but this is just really freaking awesome.
I admit, the catching bullet ball thing was just pure awesome, and the head explosion was too ![]()
I mean, who DOESN'T like mecha suits?

Knowing
Ugh.
Pretty much all horror/creepy/end of the world movies suck like this. Idiot characters who lack any kind of common sense, stupid ending, (although the end-of-civilization scene was kinda cool)
"Hug me, strange person I just met today!"
The Prestige.
Damn, why didn't I watch this film before!
This is a very well scripted film, with some twists you really don't expect.
I'll give it:
out of 6 ![]()
Inglorious !@#$%^&
I really liked it, although I think the gore was a bit overdone. Tarantino is all for the blood and such, but I think this was a bit overdone. Nevertheless, the story was good and the acting was great. Especially Brad Pitt, he was superb, I think.
I never really was a Taratino fan, but after seeing Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction I have to admit, he is a pure genious. And this one made me an even bigger fan! Thumbs up!
Btw: I had the unfortunate to have some stupid chi chi lady next to me, text messaging at the end of the movie. yes, it's really annoying, the typing, the light of the phone shyining in my eyes, and the music that says you received a text message.
Yeah, I know what you're talking about. That is why I always go at the most inconvenient hour to the theatre, like 5 'o clock when they're nobody else except me.
Time Bandits
This is the only movie that will ever really entertain you.
Amazing how this movie was so incredible without the use of CGI, the wonderful technology we have now. /sarcasm
An awesome film, whenever midgets do anything it's awesome. Oh, and probably the coolest thing about it was, at the end the fortress/castle thing is built out of LEGOs. Seriously, check it out for yourself, people.

I went with my parents to 8 a clock showing, normally I go to the theatre between 11 AM or 2 PM =P It's early but hell, almost barely no people.

It's Tarantino.
You're forgetting the cruo-tarantium principle: Taratino= blood and gore squared.
Shaun of The Dead for like the 10th time... hilarious every time though
And Tropic Thunder... Freaking Funny!

I found Tropic Thunder was a let down especially on Jack Black's part.

Oh, I loved the Jack Black part ![]()
Commando
It stars that Austrian Govenor of California who's name I cant spell to save my life. Need I say more?
Its really just Arnie doing what he does best - kicking a load of random guys Ass. Good Action-wise, but nothing that stands out.
-MRB
Pink Floyd - the Wall
it was interesting, I liked the animated parts, and first of all the music...we don't need no education...all in all it's just Another brick in the wall...makes me want to do a montage clip, or something...
Taratino= blood and gore squared.
You need to add cursing into that equation ![]()
Aren't District 9 and Inglorious B***erds NC-17 in America? How are so many under 17's seeing them, or are there edited versions in the cinema?

I always say something about it. If they look at me foul, I throw them off their seat to the screen ask it again. If they then don't do anything about it, I wish it was them in the movie instead of Nazis.
