Topic: Building Lego models inside the bags.

As those of you who are subscribed to me on youtube will know, I recently built a Lego set I got as a Christmas gift inside its bag.

It was a fun challenge, and I look forward to doing some more of this mini/smile

I'm obviously not the first one to do this. Have any of you guys attempted doing this? If so, what sets did you do?

When I get some more money I plan to buy more little sets that have all the pieces in the one bag and do the same. I want to try and assemble one of these Racers in under ten minutes!

Does anyone know if there's a record list for this type of thing?

Hahaha. Well done! It sure does look challenging, even with a small set.

It is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

Re: Building Lego models inside the bags.

How creative.  It's been a long time since I've had a set with all the pieces in one bag, otherwise I'd try it.  In other words, it's probably better this way.  And now I have that song stuck in my head but can't remember the name...

Huh. Never thought of trying that. I might if I pick up a small set, though it's been a while since I bought LEGO anywhere but bricklink.

Re: Building Lego models inside the bags.

Maybe off topic but when I watched this assembling I remembered... I was about four or five years old. I couldn't even read or count an I've got that small racing cart as a gift from my mom. Ironically she needs to help me to assemble the cart. Today, I am over thirty years now and I still enjoy building and creating with LEGO. I think it is very helpful to take a little piece of his childhood in mind.

Re: Building Lego models inside the bags.

They do this at some LEGO conventions. Brickvention, which happens in Melbourne, has a timed build-in-the-bag contest each year. But I'd rather just tip all the pieces out and build it the normal way!

I'd like to compete mini/bigsmile

Re: Building Lego models inside the bags.

This Christmas one of my brothers and I did a 'build in the bag' race. (he'd gotten the city firefighter impulse set, I'd gotten a res-q kayaker.) I would have won, but after assembling the whole lot, I realized I'd forgotten to put the fig's lifejacket on. (In the scramble to rectify this, I undid all the tricky bricks. mini/lol) Should'a gotten a picture of the finished products. It was simply loads of fun though!

I never plan on buying anything when I go to the Lego Store.
Strangely enough, I always wind up finding something that makes me ditch those plans.

Re: Building Lego models inside the bags.

OK, I tried building the CG kayak impulse this way, and it was infuriating! Like Euphreana, I forgot to put the fig's lifejacket on mini/lol.

Re: Building Lego models inside the bags.

I built the tan car in "Shanghai Escape" in the bag. It took about 1 and a half hours.
I'll try to find some pics.
