Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

But not for walls. The problem is all these new peices. I like special parts for minifigs and props as much as the next guy, but what are you supposed to rebuild with this?

Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

Ah, it may look like a Lego set to you sir....

I dont think anyone has mentioned that Lego bought back the Pirates line. I'm staring at my one of my favourite sets as I type this, and its Blackbeards Bounty. I have enourmous respect for Lego finally doing something everyone has been crying out for.

But I agree with everything else. Prince of Persia - WTF!? Prince of Persia isnt even targeted at kids! Lego used to be cool and original (though, Batman and Indiana Jones has been a big sucess).

And, Lego these days is stupidly overpriced. Why? Are they not getting enough profit? Well, the solution to that would be to STOP WHAT YOUR DOING RIGHT NOW. Go back TEN YEARS ago, and do exactly what you were doing then.

I totally agree. Mainly with the lego buckets. They need to sell more buckets with just random assorted pieces. They could even make a mystery bag, with some crazy-rare piece in every one of them. That would be a lot better than.....Ben 10.

Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

Did some one say Brick Buckets?

I personally think that there are enough awesome sets out there for me too ignore all these licensed and unappealing themes, I personally am in love with the Castle theme, and I cant get enough modular buildings. There are loads of sets on my wish list that I will never get, so I can just ignore those others people have pointed out.

Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

It amazes me how long it takes you guys to find out about these sets. I've known about this for maybe two or three months now, at least, thanks to The Brother's Brick. But yeah, I agree that Ben 10 sets are going to stink for some of us, but you guys have got to remember that LEGO is focused more towards 6-10 year olds, and the big thing with them is Ben 10, apparently. At least we might get some cool new pieces out of this.

They need to renew the Ninjas

Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

What's been happening is LEGO is placing the crappy LEGO sets in high-traffic areas. (i.e. Wal-Mart, Target, LEGO Store, etc.) All the good sets are only available at either the LEGO store in limited quantities, or online, where it's even more expensive because you have to pay Shipping & Handling. The Fleshies are good for "Limited Time Offers," (Maybe the first 500 of a set.) but I'd rather see yellow heads instead. Why LEGO had the "dead light bulb" thought to use Anime for its heads, we'll never know. The best lego head is this one:

As for the licensing nightmare that has become the IJ, BM, and SW series, licensing a Movie series is a great idea, but STICK WITH IT TOO LONG, and it will become boring and crappy. It feels like Disney and Lucasfilms are holding LEGO at knife-point and forcing it to make crappy sets.

As for Ben 10: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p84/UberSocks/58.gif. Why not just take three purple bricks, vomit on it, let it dry, repeat twice over, and sell it as "Barney the Purple Dinosaur."

Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

I think they should bring back the original LEGO space sets. They were much more creative.

Mars Mission: Spaceships had to fit a purpose. They had to design a drilling ship to look like a drilling ship. Had to be functional. Result:

LEGO Space: Let's keep adding bricks until it looks cool. Result:

I think we can all agree that LEGO Space is much better than Mars Mission, LoM, Space Police, etc. 'twould be cool if they brought back the old helmets mini/yes

Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

Yeah, I liked it better when they used more actual bricks.

Don't be fooled, my avatar is a facade of conformity.

Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

The new sets like the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer are really nice

Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

Yes, but they are really expensive.

yea that would be great. just have like 90 random brick types and colors and minifg parts and stuff, then drop in 1 or 2 ultra rare bricks

Re: Where has LEGO gotten?

If you live near a specialty lego store (most don't) you can get mystery bags of lego. the only problem is the store chooses what to put in it so you get crazy amounts of usless stuf(my case window panes with no frames).

you guys have also competly forgotten all of the mindstorms/vision comand/NXT/technic. before I started brick filming I loved mindstorms. That clear worm gear holder that everyone is wondering what its for is genius. there is no other way to increase tourque in a smaller box. those pieces won't apeall to every crowd and this is that crowd.
